I have a vast amount of knowledge and experience in the support of laboratory equipment and instrumentation from Glass washers, to high end Mass Specs systems and I am comfortable working on applications including LC/LCMS, GC/GCMS, Spectrophotometers and ICPMS. I am familiar with a myriad of makes and models of equipment,  having worked on HP/Agilent, Dionex, Thermo, Waters, CTC, and Shimadzu, and in my current role Hach, Ebro, Memmert, SMEG, Miele and ERLAB.

Employment History
Service Director, Camlab Ltd, Cambridge – Aug 2015 to date
My main objective is to review, identify and implement new strategies and key performance indicators to expand the Camlab service business and to build and maintain the service team to support these new products and services.  I regularly report my business initiatives, plans and progress to the Board, Shareholders and Directors through quarterly board and monthly Policy deployment meetings.
I am responsible for the management of a team of Engineers and other technical support staff to provide customer satisfaction in terms of meeting a high level of contractual and non-contractual equipment repair, calibration and other services.  I am required to promote and develop new services and expand our in-house technical expertise. Liaison with external and sub contracted Engineers/third party out sourcing to provide first class after sales support to our customers.
As the Service Director I am also involved in the technical development of company products; liaising with suppliers and providing technical/design input into Camlab’s new product development programme.  I also allocate time to other projects and provide consultancy when needed to solve customer or product issues which involves working with sub contractors, consultants and researchers to solve technical issues
Service Director, LC Services Ltd, Turvey – Oct 2001 to Aug 2015

I joined LC Services Ltd as Senior Engineer and was then promoted to Service Manager, followed by another promotion to Service Director in 2010.
LC Services Ltd are a small privately owned service company based in Bedfordshire, they install, repair and maintain analytical systems such as high performance liquid chromatography, gas chromatography, spectrophotometers and mass spectrometers across the UK and Europe.
I managed the operations of the company on a day to day level, including the management of a team of Field Service Engineers and an in-house team of workshop engineers.
Duties included; scheduling engineers and contractors for pre-arranged maintenance work while continuing to deliver a 24 hours breakdown response to customers in the UK and Europe,  design and provide training courses for customers and other service company’s, dispute resolution, negotiating contracts with customer and contractors, provide technical support for the engineering teams.

Spent one year at Britannia Royal Naval College where I study various module associated with the armed forces; strategy, leadership, presentation skills and personnel management. After successfully passing out and gaining my commission I spent sometime at Northwood Headquarters where i worked in CINCFLEET carrying out a variety of duty’s including divisional security/IT officer before continuing with my flight training at RNAS Culdrose.
Field Service Engineer; LC Services, Turvey Feb 1999 – May 2000
Professional Technical Officer; RAFSEE, RAF Henlow Sept 1998 – Feb 1999
Provided engineering and technical support for the RAF in the design, and procurement of antenna support systems. Designed and managed a number of projects including; a lifting device used for the replacement and servicing of radar gearboxes, a mast used to mount a variety of aerials at a number of RAF stations across the UK. I used a couple of CAD programs to aid my design during my time such as CADDS 4X, AutoCAD and Solid Edge.  Successfully accomplished the Climbing Aptitude & Safety Course at RAF Digby.
Engineering Apprenticeship; CTTS, RAF Henlow Sept 1994 – Sept 1998
Trained as a design engineer and draughtsman, disciplines included electronic & mechanical engineering principles, quality assurance and project management. Successfully completed the MOD Introduction to Management Course and residential experience in Wales. Accomplished runner up in the Ministry of Defence Tom Nevard mechanical competition two year running.

Interests
In my spare time I enjoy running and regularly take part in “park runs” and 10K fun runs, I also build radio control model boats and more recently have acquired a raspberry pi which i have started to program, to carry out simple tasks.
