Professional Experience :
In my role as Exercise consultant for one year (2009-2010) with a Physiotherapist I was responsible for
implementing rehabilatitive exercise programs, and periodic physical movement screening.
To gain first-hand experience of the practical and professional aspects of the fitness industry, I worked
as a Fitness Specialist in Gurgaon for a period of six months i.e. from February 2010 to July 2010. My role
invloved conducting baseline fitness tests and assessments; designing specific programs, and ensuring better
health, and minimising the risk of injuries.
Worked towards establishment of a gym for Hotel Diplomat Residecy. My role involved procurement
of equipment, chacking the design plan for the interior of the gym, and recruiting the fitness staff.
During the term-time of my M.Sc. I was an active member of the Exeter University Sports Volunteer
Scheme. During the tenure of my degree program, I worked as a Lead Strength and Conditioning Coach for the
Exeter City Football Club, Exeter, UK. My work invloved designing age-specific strength and conditioning
programs with the head coach, implementation of the programs, and periodic assessment of athletic
performance.
The M.Sc. programme in Sport and Health Sciences at the University of Exeter gave me an opportunity
to learn from the best researchers in the field of Sport and Health Sciences, and provided me top-quality
knowledge regarding the role of physical activity in areas such as Paeditrics Exercise and Physiology,
Prevention and Treatment of Chronic Diseases, Biomechanics of The Lower Limb, Skeletal Muscle Function,
Isokinetic Dynamometry Applications, Oxygen Transport System and Exercise, Thermoregulation, Oxygen
Uptake Kinetics, and Anaerobic Tests and The Power Time Relationship.
For my dissertation (Journal Article for Journal of Pediatrics), I worked as a researcher on a novel
research project investigating ‘The Effects of Exercise Intensity on Insulin Sensitivity and Glucose Tolerance in
Prepubertal Children’.
As a consultant – Sports Sciences; for Bhaichung Bhutia Football Schools, Delhi; one of the biggest
Soccer schools in country, I lead a team of coaches and mentored them on various aspects of sports science
pertaining to the sport of Soccer, and designed age-specific strength and conditioning programs for different
teams.
As Sports Performance Director for the Delhi Hurricanes Rugby Football Club, New Delhi, my work
involves designing training programmes specific to the sport of Rugby, identifying the strenghts and weaknesses
of the athletes, sports performance nutrition, injury prevention, and long term athlete development.
Furhtermore, I worked on part-time basis with the Delhi U-23 boys Cricket team at the Delhi And
District Cricket Association (DDCA), Feroz Shah Kotla Cricket Ground, New Delhi. At DDCA my work
involved monitoring the training programme and prevention of sports injuries.
As a fitness specialist, I run a fitness program for the kids at The British School. The program invloves
functional movement assessment, age-specific strength and conditioning, and nutrition.
Over the past 14 years, I have acquired top quality experience of working with class-leading
professionals in the field of Sport and Health Sciences, and, also by means of significant voluntary work with
athletes ranging from sports such as Cricket, Bodybuilding, Athletics, Cyclists, Judo, Soccer, Rugby,
Powerlifting, and Weightlifting.
Working as an Exercise Physiologist, I have focused my energies on my very own venture;
sportsanté™, offering services such as athletic training, nutrition and exercise prescription, strength and
conditioning, and fitness education. The Fitness Education Program covers mudules such as Anatomy and
Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics of Exercise, Bioenergetics of Exercise, Prevention and Treatment of
chroninc diseases, and Nutrition and supplementation.
Interests: Competitive drug-free Powerlifting. Recreational photography. Reading. An avid traveller.
Occasional writer. Ardent Tennis, and music fan.
Objectives : To work as a Sport and Health Sciences practitioner with excellent knowledge of both theoretical
and practical aspects of Sport and Health Sciences. My ultimate goal is to discover new theoretical concepts as
well as practical innovations in Sport and Health Sciences and contribute to the field of Sport and Health
Sciences.
