Quality Assurance Superintendent

·                   Responsible for all aspects of the Quality Assurance program (ISO 9001:2000, N299) and Quality Verification Department activities within the Port Hope facility. This includes the documentation and standard operating procedures (4000+) associated with the fuel fabrication process.

·                   Responsible for Port Hope Materials Management Department and IAEA/CNSC compliance.

·                   Primary liason for all reactor fuel customers (Bruce Power, OPG, New Brunswick Power, etc.).

·                   Responsible for ensuring that all product produced is confirming to strict design criteria and that all internal/external quality progam requirements are maintained.

·                   Responsible for ensuring all internal and external vendor audits are completed as per Q.A. program requirements as well as verification of vendor corrective actions.

Materials Management Coordinator

·                   Implementation of improved material management processes throughout a multi-site operation. Recipient of Cameco Innovation Award for improved material flow and waste reduction.

·                   Responsible for uranium accountability at Port Hope facility and working with associated regulatory agencies (CNSC/ IAEA) and activities (PIT-PIV’s, SNRI’s, Safeguards, reporting requirements, etc.)

·                   Management of shipment vehicles and material movement equipment at four separate locations. Compliance to ISO 140001 program.

·                   Responsible for the material handling of a variety hazardous goods including hydrofluoric acid, Alcadag 154N, and Safeguards for uranium.

·                   Extensive use of  SAP to manage budgets, purchasing, material management, waste management, facility maintenance, life cycle and repairs of all mobile equipment.

·                   Responsible for all logistics of material movement to support daily operations of a multi-site process and associated unionized and salary support department.

Manufacturing Excellence Coordinator

·                   Identification and implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques (5S, Kanban, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Events, etc.).

Senior Advisor, Quality and Production (General Foreman)

·                   Management of  quality verification/inspection team responsible for the  high level of  quality produced at the Oshawa facility.

·                   Extensive experience working with CAW Local 222 and collective agreement.

·                   Senior Advisor appointed to plant re-rate activites; associated job layout/tasks and manpower reductions.

·                   Responsible for  all aspects of quality/production volume relating to the Trim and Hardware plant  which produced ~ 550 vehicles per shift.

·                   Management of eight Production Supervisors and their associated groups pertaining to the quality/volume of all vehicles built in each group.

·                   Assumed the responsibilities of the plant superintendent in their absence on a short term basis.

·                   Responsible for the allocation of manpower throughout the department daily on a given shift. Approximately 250 people.

·                   Responsible for managing all aspects of an automotive production line (50+ people), including health and safety, labour relations, ensuring product met quality standards, material requisition, troubleshooting production issues, and achieving business plan objectives.
