·         Assist staff counsel in all aspects of litigation management including factual investigation, document preparation, trial preparation, and support.

 

·         Handle heavy caseload and serve as liaison between clients, opposing counsel, and vendors. Ensure all files are organized, complete and ready for demand.

 

·         Investigate facts to obtain relevant issues necessary to determine causation, damages, and extent of injuries. Assist clients with providers, property damage claims, and resolving client and adjuster PIP issues.

 

·         Negotiate with insurance adjusters and opposing counsel to read a fair settlement for clients with specified limits. Contact clients regarding Examination under Oath and confirmed and schedule Independent Medical Examinations (IME’s).

 

·         Oversee all scheduling, help prepare cases for deposition, supported mediations, and trials.

 

·         Draft correspondence, letters of protection and other legal instruments including summarizing deposition, and interrogatories. Draft summons, complaints, motions, pleadings, and discovery.

·         Conduct social media investigations (e.g. Facebook) using an on-line research using private and public database services, conduct medical investigations using various investigation strategies, and conduct fraud investigations using private and public databases.

 

·         Create and submit reports regarding background investigations, highlighting any special findings.

 

 

·          Check computer databases, credit reports, public records, legal filings and educational records.

 

·         Research and review data obtained from different databases and information systems, and ensure that acquired data from subjects or applicants is verified according to procedure.

 

·         Search and document activities of individuals to detect unlawful acts.

 

·         Create notes of all acquired information, and ensure that it is properly structured so that it can be used for further investigations.

 

·         Format/type/edit full reports of background research findings.

These responsibilities include but are not limited to developing, generating, tracking, analyzing and evaluating reports; advising and assisting with the improvement of the program operations; maintain department budget reports and related documentation; preparing requisitions for supplies and materials; developing and editing broad range of correspondence, documents (e.g. purchase requests forms), and reports (e.g. monthly budget) under general supervision; opening and organizing mail; and answering and referring telephone calls and taking messages.
