* Education:
– M.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) University, Al-Ain, UAE, since June 2016, with GPA: V. Good 3.4/4.0.
– B.Sc. degree in Chemical Engineering from Mutah University, Karak-Jordan, since June 2005, with grade: V. Good 78.6 % and second rank.
* Experiences:
A. Academic Field
i. Research
1- Researcher at Zayed University, Chief Academic Office, for a research concerning with environment and waste management of alkali-industries in UAE. Since July 2016-present.
Description and Achievements:
a) To run experiments of mineral carbonation in an integrated fluidized bed reactor with temperature up to 200 ºC and pressure up to 6 bar, and perform pre-treatment processes.
b) To analyze samples through TGA, ICP-OES and XRD, in addition to analyze data by software such minitab and sigmaplot, and gather results for publication.
c) To prepare contact with suppliers for different required devices, tools and instruments in order to advise the procurement department.
2- Research Assistant at U.A.E. University, Chemical & Petroleum Engineering, for a research concerning with composite materials based on selected waste industries (Aluminum, Rubber, Palm Trees (date pits and date leaves) to be used as thermal insulation or construction materials. Since November 2015-July 2016.
Description and Achievements:
a) To design specific molds with different shapes, compatible to desired tests: tensile, compression, bending and thermal conductivity tests, and follow up their fabrication in the workshop.
b) To prepare recipes using polymers both thermoset (polyester) and thermoplastic (polystyrene) mixed with selected fillers: date pits, date leaves or red-mud through CARVER hot-press machine.
c) To analyze the major mechanical and thermal properties such: tensile test, compression test and thermal conductivity test.
d) To supervise undergraduate students who jointed a part of research in this Summer.
3- Research Assistant at U.A.E. University, Chemical & Petroleum Engineering, the research was “CO2 Capture By Steel-making Residues in a Fluidized bed Reactor”, November 2012-November 2015.
Description and Achievements:
a) To design and run experiments in the lab using fluidized bed reactor.
b) To analyze data results using instruments such: TGA, ICP, SEM, XRD, and analyze whole data using programs: Minitab, HSC-Chemistry and SigmaPlot.
c) Participating conferences: ADRAC 2014, UAE GSRC 2015,and SPE Contest 2015 beside a paper publication.
ii. Teaching
4- Teaching Assistant of the course, “Engineering Thermodynamics”, at U.A.E. University, Engineering Requirements Unit, in fall 2015 and spring 2016.
Description and Achievements:
a) To teach the special software in thermodynamics, EES, and running simple programs.
b) To solve problems related to the studied topics in tutorials, and to proctor exams.
5- Private teaching of fundamental undergraduate courses: Mathematics [Algebra, Calculus, Numerical Analysis, Probability and Statistics], Physics, Chemistry, Arabic, in addition to courses of engineering such: Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Engineering Drawing. I’m professionally able to teach core courses of Chemical Engineering, such: Principles, Fluid Mechanics, Unit Operations, Transport Phenomena, and Chemical Engineering Reactions.
B. Industrial Field
6- Chemical Engineer, at LIWA Pure Drinking Water Est., since April 2010. Description and Achievements:
a) To supervise and control the processes of production: filtration, reverse osmosis (R.O), sterilization by U.V and Ozone, and finally filling into 5-G bottles, according to HACCP system. Certified by TUV NORD Middle East.
b) To perform chemical tests using spectrophotometer, in addition to bacterial tests using filtration method.
c) To prepare and arrange correspondences: with suppliers for purchasing orders, with ZonesCorp for EHS (Environment Health and Safety), and with specialized companies and consultants for ISO 9001 certificate. I had duties of Management Representative.
7- Production Engineer, at Jordanian Tunisian Chemicals Company, which has permission to produce Italian Products for hair-care, framesi, since April 2006. Description and Achievements:
a) To perform and control processes of production, mainly hair-care products: hair coloring creams, shampoos, balsam, hair gel, hair styling cream, lotions, emulsions, and hand sanitizer (Hygiene).
b) To supervise production team and its included activities such weighing, filling, packaging and storing.
c) Entrusted to take the duty of the production manager during his traveling outside the country about one month many times.
8- Engineer Trainee at Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC)/ Eshidiya Mines.
Description and Achievements:
a) Feb. 2005-May 2005, To get close view about phosphate mining processes, but focusing on these activities under chemical engineering concepts: exploration, digging, blasting, mining, crashing and screening, washing and drying (Flotation Unit), Utility Unit (Water and Power supplying), and finally the Laboratory.
b) In Laboratory, the duties were to perform chemical and physical tests of phosphate using devices and instruments, mainly Spectrophotometer.
9- Graduation Project. 20 months of working into this Graduation Project, “Electrochemical Ion-Exchange Using Natural Jordanian Zeolite”, supervised by Prof. Ahmad Shawaqfeh, [email protected], this water treatment project had the following Achievements:
a) Designing and Settings the electrochemical cells, including frames, electrodes and solutions according to selected affecting parameters.
b) Running Experiments and analyzing results through analytical laboratory instruments such IC and AA.
* Activities and Memberships:
1. Presenter of a session in conferences: UAE-GSRC 2015, ADRAC 2014, and in SPE Contest 2015-Bahrain.
2. Volunteer enumerator in Abu Dhabi Census, October 2011.
3. Private teaching many subjects (Math, Physics, Chemistry, English and Arabic) for 7 years in Jordan and 8 years in UAE to both secondary school and college levels.
4. Jordan Engineers Association, JEA, since 2007, membership.
