JOB DESCRIPTION
Duties and responsibilities are as follows:
A. Lecture
Prepares syllabus and resource units for the different courses handled and taught to the students;
2. Presents the objectives of every lessons to be discussed;
Conducts lectures to the students as a clinical instructors based on the courses handled;
4. Gives time for class discussion and answers students’ queries clearly and with competence.
5. Formulates term examination questions and quizzes to evaluate students learning;
Prepares and computes scholastic grades of students per subject matter and keep records and evaluation files of students;
7. Supervise students’ related learning experience, equipping them with nursing procedures to enhance their clinical skills in doing bedside nursing care to the patients;
8. Conducts individual consultations with students as well as parents as part of the teacher advisory program of the school;
Coordinates and links with other clinical instructor as a level coordinator for monitoring of students’ academic performance and to follow up courses being taught;
Ensures harmonious relationship with students in the classroom and provide an environment conducive for learning.
B. Clinical Area (Related Learning Experience)
Assist students in providing holistic nursing care to various kinds of patients;
Exhibit skills in guiding students in the implementation of Nursing Care and other procedures;
Supervises nursing students assigned in the ward in the assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care;
Demonstrate quality patient care by actually working with the students at the bedside;
Observes, takes records and reports symptoms and conditions of patients; administers medical treatments as well as notes its reactions;
Facilitate the students in carrying-out of the Doctor’s order accurately;
Assist in the administering of highly specialized therapy with complicated instruments;
Aids students in the administration of medications, treatments and nursing procedures;
Assist in the orientation, incidental teaching and evaluation of non-professional personnel;
Assist in the patient education and rehabilitation including the promotion of mental and physical health;
Cooperates and shares responsibilities with the head nurse, supervisor, staff on duty and physician;
Supervises and follow-up students in the clinical area as part of their training and clinical exposure in the different fields of nursing to the following areas as follows:
a. Supervises students in the Delivery Room @ Calatrava Health Care Center, Calatrava , Negros Occidental
b. Supervises students in Emergency Room , Out-patient Department , OB Ward , Medical & Surgical Ward , Operating Room & Delivery room @ Vicente Gustilo District Hospital, Escalante City, Negros Occidental
c. Supervises Students in OB Ward & Delivery Room of Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Provincial Hospital, Silay City, Negros Occidental
