Barry J. Sanders Bio
Barry James Sanders is a native of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Barry spent four years living in Palo Alto, California getting his undergrad degree from Stanford University, and lived years in Orlando, Florida working as a contractor with EA SPORTS (Electronic Arts Inc.).
Barry attended high school in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at Heritage Hall High School. While at Heritage Hall, Barry earned High School All-American honors for his accomplishments in football. Barry was listed as an ESPN Top 100 player in the country for the graduating class of 2012. Barry was named a 2012 U.S. Army All-American and played in the 2012 U.S. Army All-American Bowl held annually in San Antonio, Texas.
Barry was offered football scholarships to virtually every major Division I university in America before committing to attend Stanford University. He was one of the most sought after recruits in the nation, not only as a result for his athletic prowess, but because of his outstanding academic accomplishments and his impeccable character. A well-spoken, poised and thoughtful presenter, Barry was often interviewed by various media outlets during his high school and collegiate football tenure.
At Stanford, Barry was a member and participated in Stanford Football’s 2013 and 2016 Rose Bowl Championships and played on three Stanford PAC-12 Championship teams.
Among many achievements while at Stanford University, the most significant was his ability to earn his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication in four years while also balancing rigorous athletic responsibilities with the challenge of also meeting and exceeding the demands of Stanford’s first class academic requirements. After graduating with an undergrad from Stanford, Barry pursued a Master’s Degree at Oklahoma State University while also playing out his fifth year of collegiate football eligibility. Barry was named Big 12 Conference Special Teams player of the week from his onfield performance against rival University of Oklahoma.
At Oklahoma State, Barry was a member and participated in Oklahoma State’s 2016 Alamo Bowl Championship.
Barry’s professional work experience started at sixteen (16) years of age as he was self motivated and embraced the values of work ethic, responsibilities, teamwork, and accountability. From 2010 – 2012 Barry worked at the sports memorabilia store On Deck, stores previously located inside of Quail Springs and Penn Square Mall. As a sales representative, Barry was able to develop his customer services skills.
During high school, Barry utilized his developing leadership, counseling, customer service, and mentoring abilities while serving as a coach at the Wes Welker Football Clinic during the summer of 2010 and volunteering as a mentor at Western Village Elementary throughout the 2011-2012 school year.
During the summer of 2013, Barry served as an intern at EA SPORTS (Electronic Arts Inc.) at Redwood Shores as a Social Media Influencer Marketing Assistant. EA SPORTS is a global leader in digital interactive entertainment. In this capacity, he assisted in the cultivation of key relationships between EA SPORTS and social media influencers.
In 2016, upon graduating from Stanford and playing out his fifth year of collegiate football eligibility at Oklahoma State, Barry decided not to pursue the NFL, in any capacity, and started preparing himself for a career away from playing football.
Barry currently works as an Assistant Strategic Alliance Marketing Manager for EA SPORTS (Electronic Arts Inc.) at Tiburon. In this role, Barry manages and executes the partnerships between EA and all thirty-two (32) NFL teams. He also works with the cross-functional teams to leverage the NFL partnerships to grow sales, EA’s social following, and create social conversation aligned with brand initiatives.
Because of his character, charisma, and already established personal relationships inside of the NFL, Barry was one of few EA employees hand picked to become a Madden NFL Ratings Performance Adjustor. A position tasked to provide critical feedback about NFL players and how their player ratings are represented digitally inside of the Madden NFL console game. Barry also works with the talent manager to execute contractual social promotions to all EA signed athletes for Madden NFL, NHL, UFC, and NBA LIVE. After said social promotions are activated, Barry uses his analytical skills to determine best practices and makes performance reports to management.

• Utilizing customer service skills, assisted costumers with the sale of sports memorabilia.
