Tukod Project is a reconstruction/development project funded by Global Affairs of Canada (GAC) a 3 year project that aims to increase people’s resilience to natural disasters, both in the short term – as preparing for a typhoon – or long term – such as adapting to climate change. Moreover, the  approach aimed at increasing the employability of target populations, and a diversification of their means of subsistence making them less dependent on the sole basis of agriculture or fishery.

 

 

Major tasks:

Supervises the social mobilizers ( community mobilizers and other field staff)

Support the organization and facilitation of training sessions for technical teams and assisted communities.

Receives, analyses, consolidates reports from the field

Ensures guidance and mentoring the mobilizers ( field staff) through regular visits

Attends monthly meetings for updating and reporting

Networks with LGUs, business service providers, other NGOs, POs and other stakeholders in their area of responsibility

Facilitates collaboration and works hand in hand with volunteers and specialists on the strategy and project implementation

Ensures the preparation and writing of project reports.

Monitors the project.

Evaluate the project and subordinates in his/her area of responsibility.

An Emergency response project . The project aims to assist, in one (1) year the recovery of 500 families (2,500 persons) of Barangay Buenavista and Canipaan in Palompon, Leyte affected by super typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) through shelter material support, cash grant for livelihood for women and fisherfolks and capacity/capability building on disaster risk reduction.

Conduct community orientations, consultations, series of meetings and coordination with city and municipal officials;

Conduct capacity and organizational development, focus group discussion and workshop sessions for enhancement and group capacitation;

Coordinate with program partners such as the Local Government Units, National Government Agencies, local stakeholders, the academe and other organized groups and stakeholders.

Ensure finances and organizational resources are properly utilized;

Coordinate and liaise with national and local partners for strengthened implementation of  projects
