Job Description:
1. Constantly monitors the conditions of patients and ensures appropriate action is taken if a condition starts to deteriorate;
2. Manages to join in physician’s rounds to be able:
a. to update physician of present health status of patient based on physical assessment, vital signs, laboratory results, present chief complaints, medication, and IV fluids;
b. to assists in examination, carry out new orders, and provide prescription for newly-ordered medications.
3. Anticipates problem and prevent them before they happen;
4. Able to give clear directions, and listen carefully to objections or suggestions of others for improvement;
5. Also functions as a risk management person who helps prevent patients from injury;
6. Able to act as a teacher to nurses with less experience, giving them advice and acknowledge when giving excellent care;
7. Monitors the unit medical supplies and ensures emergency drugs are enough for the whole shift;
8. If a patient is not responding to treatment, she calls the assigned Resident-On Duty to re-evaluate, inform attending physician and perform emergency intervention when needed;
9. Able to manage the assigned unit smoothly for the whole shift without hassle;
10. Interact with many people: doctors, families, colleagues n other unit and other staff in the hospital.
