MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Implement and maintain best cath lab practice within the scope ofcontractual responsibility ensuring excellent operational service delivery; develop and support business initiatives, policies and strategies which insure the delivery of high quality treatment and care within all facilities.

• Assist with participation in research.

• Promote best evidence based practice within own scope of practice (Nonclinical).

• Responsible for the efficient and effective operation of Medtronic’s managed services within the customer facility.

• Overall responsibility for operational excellence and efficiency programs deriving from Medtronic consultancy or other sources within scope of the contractual responsibility.

• Overall responsibility for the provision of the inventory management system and performance reporting, and for the provision and maintenance of capital and non-capital equipment contracts.

• Ensure that staffs (client and MDT) are fully trained in all relevant areas and that standards are maintained and updated, including Continuing Professional Development.

• Ensure Corrective and Preventative Action planning is in place and forms part of the measurement and reporting process for Key Performance Indicators (KPI); ensures all contractual KPIs are met.

• Ensure good health and safety practice applies throughout the areas of the facility under Medtronic direct influence and systems are in place for staff and visitor training.

• Ensure radiation safety monitoring is in place for Medtronic staff.

– ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops, Assist and recommends protocols and guidelines for best practice treatment of STEMI patients across the continuum of care.
2. Oversees the tracking process for data related to throughput of the target patients and provides data to the Chest Pain Committee to initiate changes as appropriate and to improve outcomes. Such as

:A -door to balloon time(D2B)  report to the chest pain center committee for accreditation purposes & for improvement of patient care .

B- Chest pain patients EKG auditing reported to the CPC committee as accreditation requirement and as a quality indicator for the DEM.
3- Coordinates the care of the STEMI patients with the multidisciplinary team members e.g.: cardiology team, DEM team, ambulance services .case management department and cath lab.

4. Work in a collegial manner with the Chest Pain Medical Director to assure continuity in care of all cardiac patients and quality outcomes

 

5. Assists in the development of strategic plans for the growth of Cardiology Services.

 

6. Works closely with Emergency Medical Services to assure optimal continuity of care, from pre hospital to hospital. –
7. Educates nursing, ancillary staff on best practices in the treatment of ACS and AMI patients. Develop educate for all new employees on the mission and vision of the facility related to chest pain patients and educate them regarding chest pain accreditation.

 

8. Conducts cardiac research studies as appropriate to facilitate care.

 

9. Work closely with the quality coordinator to assure metrics are in place to show continuous improvement in the care of the ACS patient and for CMS data reporting, as well as other registry data.

 

10. Act as a resources internally and in the community regarding educating others about the ACS patient

 

11. Represents the hospital at a local, regional and national level related to best practices for ACS patients. Speaks at educational conferences and become involved with the Society of Chest Pain Centers & Providers.
