Viking Orion is a cruise ship.  I worked full time and my responsibilities are:

 

 

 

·         Assesses nursing care needs of passengers and crew

·         Performs dependent and independent nursing functions

·         Performs blood extraction and IV therapy both adult and pediatric patients

·         Provides first aid treatment

·         Assists physician during physical examination

Assists physician in any emergency cases like accidental falls, injury and trauma that need

·         immediate intervention

·         Assists physician in special procedures like intubation, wound suturing in minor OR, ear irrigation

·         Taking 12-lead EKG

·         Give medications to admitted passengers and crew

·         Conducting immediate transfer of emergency cases that needs further management

·         Preparing purchase orders of medicines and other medical supplies needed in the clinic

·         Preparing weekly report (end of voyage), monthly report of consultations and medicine inventory.

·         Adhere to ship`s infection, safety and security standards

·         Assess nursing care needs of patients

·         Implementing physician’s orders efficiently and acknowledge verbal orders and proper documentation
