The project involves expansion of the general cargo terminal, building an additional 1,266 meters of multi-purpose berths, a new northern breakwater, facilities for dry-bulk commodities and a new liquids jetty. Thus, the capacity of the terminal will be increased to 40 million tons of dry-bulk commodities and five million tons of liquid products each year. The project value is estimated at US$ 143,000,000-.
Site 2. Central Facility Yard (CFY) – Ajman & RAK, U.A.E. (Period: 11 July 2002 – 26 Sept. 2003; 6 Dec. 2007 22 Aug. 2012)
Description of Project Works:
The CFY is a repair, maintenance and storage facility for the Company’s fleet of plant and equipment employing mechanics, welders, electricians, labourers, office staff and other professions. The number of personnel is increasing or decreasing proportionally to the workload.
The scope of work for CFY in UAE is given below:
· Dry-docking and afloat repairs of the company’s floating equipment.
· Maintenance and repair of light and heavy construction equipment (trucks, excavators, loaders, etc.) as well as light vehicles.
· Different fabrications according to received drawings
· Training of newly engaged engineers and technical clerks.
· Fabrication of steel structures for ARCO sites.

Site 3. Palm Jumeirah Crescent Infrastructure and East/West Crescent Island Bridges, Dubai, U.A.E

Description of Project Works:
– Construction of roads networks, storm water drainage, street lightning, portable and irrigation water system and tanks, pumping stations, gas network, electrical cabling and telecom ducting, pipework and 11,500m R.C. retaining wall.
– Construction of two marine composite bridges at Palm Jumeirah artificial island connecting the main crescent to two other smaller islands. The first bridge is290 m long and consists of seven spans while the second is 210 m in length and has five spans. All spans are 50 m long. Work included geotechnical investigation, concrete piles with steel lining, 1.5 m. dia., pile caps, bridge superstructures, parapets, expansion joints, services and utilities within the bridge structure and other related works. Bridge superstructures contain concrete piers, bearings, steel girders, concrete decking and asphalt roads.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Supervises and coordinates the actions and activities of Plant & Equipment resources to ensure that the project equipment is always in good working and looking condition as well as environmentally friendly and also that any fabrication assigned to the workshop is done on time, as per required specifications.
· Ensures the existence of the appropriate resources (personnel, machinery, hardware and software) in the workshop.
· Implements Company’s IMS applicable to his position.
· Make sure that all safety measures in his area of concern are well observed and safety rules and regulations are followed.

· Compares spare parts, materials and tyres installed on the equipment. Inspects their quality, record their performance and when ordering evaluates their value for money.
· Checks the spare parts and consumable material stock level and tries to keep them as low as possible.
· Follows up to execution of the orders for parts and consumables for the workshop and ensures on time delivery.
· Investigates the availability of agents and 3rd party establishments in the area of the project capable to offer parts and support to his activities and make use of them as required.
· Ensures that warranties of equipment and parts are honored by their suppliers or agents.
· Recommends to P&ED which equipment is no longer economical to repair.
· Provides the project with technical support & information.
· Ensures that all workshop reports are produced, checked, corrected and distributed on time.
· Checks and corrects store reports of Issues by Equipment Code and by Cost Center.
· Studies the equipment cost reports produced monthly by the project’s or regional office’s computer department.
· Checks and ensures that the existing plant & equipment in the project are in agreement with those of the project fixed assets.
