I had fully complied my tertiary academic curriculum last October 2012 at Central Mindanao University, with the degree Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Animal Science. As an Animal Science graduate, I studied different principles relating to animal reproduction. During my study, I involved in the actual practice of raising, taking care of and providing shelter to animals like pigs, chicken, cows and goat/sheep. At the end of the course, I have presented and defended my study on the Meat Quality of Carabeef Marinated with three different fruit juices of Manggo, Papaya and Guyabano.

On the same year, month of November I was Employed at Libona breeder Farm Inc. A piggery farm with 1,100 sow level involved in raising and producing good quality pigs.

Libona Breeder Farm Inc. is owned Manuel Bacan Roa, and is situated in Barangay kiliog, Libona, Bukidnon, Mindanao, Philippines. It is a Breeder to Finisher operation with 1,100 sow level, compose of 12% Nucleus (GP) and 88% Parent Stocks (PS).
The farm was built on year 2002. The farm operates breeding, farrowing, nursery and growing section. Furthermore, also equipped with feed mill to supply farm feed requirement and semen laboratory facilities to cater semen requirements.

Main Duties:

● Initiate and supervise over-all operation in BREEDING-FARROWING-NURSERY-GROWOUT DEPARTMENT.
● Monitoring and analyzed feeding index of breeders, piglets, starter, grower, finisher.
● Monitoring ADG of newly weaned piglets, starter, grower, finisher – marketed hogs.
● Initiate ideas to control pre and post weaning mortalities.
● Check and assure all facilities and equipment within the department if it is working at its best and prepare job orders for repairs when necessary.
● Manage time and manpower set-up efficiently and wisely.
● Lead and supervise vaccination and medication of breeders, piglets to finisher.

JLP Farm and Livestock is owned by the Mrs. Joselyn Luceᾐo Puerin. It is a Breeding to Finisher operation with 50 sow level.
The farm was built on year 2010, Operates breeding, nursery, growing to finisher section. Furthermore, the farm having 2 boars and perform natural breeding. Also equipped with feed mill to supply farm feed requirement.

Main Duties:

● All around piggery farm solo caretaker.
● Conducts heat detection twice a day (3am & 3pm).
● Daily boar walks at the gestation barn to determine animals exhibiting signs of heat and to determine recycles.
● Feeding sows, piglets, starters-finishers at twice manual feeding daily.
● Performs natural breeding after finalizing number of sows/gilts to be
bred (4am & 4pm). I make sure that the animals are properly stimulated (pre & post breeding).
● Transferring of sows to the farrowing section 1 week prior to farrow.
● Check body condition of sows prior to breeding and ensures that they are in good condition before transferring them to their individual sow barns.
● Monitor and ensures sow’s good health condition for better result in the farrowing section.

● Analyzing the expected target breeding for verification purposes.
