UNPUBLISHED ACADEMIC PAPER

TITLE: MAKING OF INTEGRATED WOODEN AND METAL CEILING FAN

ABSTRACT:

The project work focused on making of integrated wooden and metal ceiling fan. As technology keep evolving, improvements and innovation has become very imperative in product design. The project work was based on developing a ceiling fan which is an improvement over the existing ones, in terms of aesthetics, eco-friendly, therapeutic and it anti-rust and corrosion properties, hence beautiful and durable. The product was designed to possess the following qualities effective air, flow low, noise level, no wobbling, durability, light weight for low power consumption, anti-rust properties and aesthetic. Rusting of metallic fan blades can cause unevenness in the balancing of the fan blades because of change in weight and it also will affect the durability. Thus the blades need to be coated effectively with paint to prevent oxidation of the fan blades. The wooden fan was mainly made from wood and fixed on an electric motor. The manufacturing process of the wooden final look involved cutting, planing, multi polishing, finishing, painting and printing or covering with printed paper.
