DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
• Expediting of a central team of Six (6) buyers and (4) four expeditors co-coordinating with 80 foreign suppliers from all over the world and 200 local suppliers with a spend of USD 50,000,000
• Also manage logistics activities consisting of 4 freight forwarders for ground, sea and air transportation.
• Direct negotiation of strategic, complex services and products procurement agreements.
• Performance Management through KPIs implementation, spend and suppliers cost structure analysis and modeling.
• Dissemination of a new culture and methodology via a temporary delegation process of some non-strategic purchases. Approach supported by a competence development program in the company (continuous internal and external training and coaching of the whole purchasing team)
• Taking control of the complete purchasing / expediting cycle for the procurement of goods for each order personally initiated from approved requisitions, including obtaining quotations for the supply of goods
• Follow – up on all purchase order initiated to ensure correct delivery to the required Location.
• The timely and accurate preparation of the paper audit trail required for the input of date leading to payment to supplier.

ACHIEVEMENTS
• Reduced purchase requisition backlog of 815 to 61 within 4 months with an average request of 53 Purchase requisitions per day. This was successful after careful implementation of business improvement ideas.
• Reduced purchase requisition to purchase order cycle time from 16days to 5days.
• Total lead time was also reduced from 120days to 60days for foreign purchases and from 30days to 14days for local purchases respectively.
• Part of Procurement team that won the Best Performing Mine for two consecutive times within the Goldfields Team at Goldfields Damang Mine
