1. Making sure that library policies and procedures are in place in line with the departmental goals and objectives of the organization. ·
2. Monitoring and evaluation of the library staffs by assessing the work done in line with their job specifications.
3. Making sure that relevant library information materials are selected and recommended for purchase to meets the needs of both students and lecturers.
4. Teaching of library and information students in different course units assigned from the office of the Academic Registrar.
5. Making sure that all library and information science lecturers teach in relation with the course outline.
6. Making sure that all acquired library information materials are documented in the accession register, classified according to their respective classes and cataloged for easy access.
1. Preparing a plan for a Health Information System.
2. Conduct Literature research prior to health consultation.
3. Creating a strategy for sharing information with other NGO’s, Ministry of Health and USAID/UPHS who are the funders. Develop a pro-active Information development Strategy.
4. Deliver structured Information training courses to Organization staffs.
5. Establish and maintain an ongoing Capacity for Quality Improvement.
6. Providing Evidenced Based (EBP) practices to Organization staffs.
7. Translation of key documents into local languages for patients to take independent decisions.
8. Handling of patient information requests. · Cooperate with local mass media on behalf of the Organization.
9. Making sure that weekly, monthly and quarterly reports are submitted to the district.
10. Organizing, classifying and cataloging of information materials for easy access in the organization’s library.
11. Making sure that all the registers and other records are updated.
12. Holding and chairing of Quality Improvement meetings with in the Organization.
13. Responsible for showing the performance trends for different indicators within the organization by displaying weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual graphs.
