III. WORK EXPERIENCE

 

From April 2013 up now:Lab scientist at GISENYI DISTRICT HOSPITAL

Key responsibility:

v  Performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing to Support department workflow as needed. including laboratory test ordering,
Performs daily quality control, maintenance, and monitoring of specimen storage units and laboratory equipment. Performs care, maintenance, cleaning, and disinfection of selected or assigned laboratory equipment, storage units, and other workspaces.

v  Follows appropriate safety policies including the appropriate use of PPE, hand washing, and hazardous chemical handling. Demonstrates understanding and adheres to Chemical Hygiene plan and Infection Control policies.

v  Provides physician with information for treatment of patient infection by performing technical procedures for the identification or susceptibility of bacteria, parasites, fungi, and mycobacteria.

v  Ensures the patient of receiving compatible blood/blood components by completing blood typing, compatibility testing, and antibody identification procedures.

v  Perform screening of  STDs,TB And HIV At IWAWA Rehabilitation center in new come in the center.

v  Monthly training of lab technician of health facilities about  sample collection of sputum using molecular diagnosis TB(  Genexpert method), and  screening of HIV using rapid test

v  Send the sputum to NLR for culture and DST

v  Perform viral load Testing  of HIV and Hepatitis C
