Ensured an effective day to day running of the Maternity Clinic at VJH, which includes:
∙ Gathered patients’ information; interacted with patients’ during registration and retrieved information from personal files. Maintained patients’ index by completing assigned daily audit trail; corrected and communicated problems according to established procedures and initiated the medical record by creating and processing the patient care record folder/docket.
∙ Maintained record availability by processing charts into the department; using chart mark-off procedures; facilitated chart location activities (i.e. filing) and retrieved medical records by following chart-out procedures; documented reasons charts cannot be retrieved for statistical and follow-up purposes. Delivered charts to assigned areas of the hospital by following established routing procedures and kept health care providers informed by communicating availability or unavailability of the record.
∙ Maintained quality results by following hospital standards and continuity of work operations by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and needs.
Maintained patient confidence by keeping patient records information confidential and serves and protects the hospital community by adhering to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, requirements and standards.
