International Zone Manager, Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Australia                                 Mar 2018- Apr 2018

Managed the International Zone in the Commonwealth Games Village during Village operational hours. Assisted in maintaining a clean and safe environment for Athletes, Guests and dignitaries within the zone, attended to the retail owners’ needs and ensured the zone was operational during the designated times.

Assisted with the final stages of training design and delivery of Village Workforce Training materials and presentations. Coordinated the rostering of Village volunteer workforce and managed volunteer workforce throughout the Commonwealth Games Village. Collaboratively worked with the Village Workforce Operations team to resolve any workforce welfare issues.

Responsible for Volunteer Management; rostering, scheduling and training and the development of retention strategies for volunteers across Operations. Worked closely with the Accommodations Manager in creating and delivering a successful Invictus Games Village. Liaised with various Work Groups and Functional Areas operating out of the Village to ensure their spaces were fit for purpose in order to operate efficiently.

SK8 Programs Coach teaching children 3 – 12 years old in the development of figure skating and hockey. Interact with the kids in a group setting as well as one-on-one. Give parents feedback regarding their child’s skating development and suggestions for next steps.

My responsibilities included check-in process, distribution of meal vouchers, track volunteer numbers and absences, and help with redistribution of volunteers to different functional areas and venues.

In transportation, I had the opportunity to interact one-on-one with the stars of the event. While driving officials, players, and Hockey Canada and IIHF representatives, I was able to improve my communication skills tremendously.
