JOB DESCRIPTION AT PRESENT JOB
· Conducts physical properties of natural fibers for testing for different clientele and services of the division
* Prepares raw material samples for physical analysis, testing/collates and computes data on physical analysis
* Prepares reports related to physical testing of fiber and its fiber-based products
* Conducts lecture and training for On-The-Job Training students regarding the physical analysis of fibers
· Conducts morphological properties of natural fibers for testing for different clientele and services of the division
* Prepares raw material samples for morphological analysis (maceration and forensic fiber identification using stereo, compound and polarize light microscope), testing/collates and computes data on morphological analysis
* Prepares reports related to morphological testing of fiber and its fiber-based products
* Conducts lecture and training for On-The-Job Training students regarding the morphological analysis of fibers
· Operates different laboratory/testing equipments used in the physical testing of fiber products (such as Universal Testing Machine-Tensile Strength Tester, High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Laboratory Furnace and Oven, Biological Safety Cabinets, Centrifuge, Burst Tester,).
· Expert on the use and operation of Scanning Electron Microscope and Elemental Analysis (such as gun powder residue, semi-conductor industries, etc.)
· Trained on the use and operation of Polarizing Light Microscope with digital camera (such as forensic fiber identification of natural and man-made fibers, known and unknown fibers)
· Works for administrative and personnel matters, acts as liaison officer and canvasser/purchaser of the agency
· Headed the Technical Working Group on the Bids and Awards procurement of Laboratory Equipment and Motor Vehicle of the industry
· Takes charge in the requisition of dyes, chemicals and other materials/equipments needed in the laboratory
· Takes charge the Management Information Systems (MIS) that provides information on networking and software application needed by the division
* Provides specifications of needed computers and other IT products of the division
