As the Project Controls Manager for Atkins Site Operations – Middle East, Jayachandran has provided planning, commercial, contract administration and claim management support to various project teams across the GCC. His duties and responsibilities have extended to:
Conducting technical workshops with the Contractor, giving guidance on the required detailing of the project schedule in line with the requirement stated in the Contract and to the level of satisfaction of the Clients.
Review the Contract Programme, Construction methodology and the details showing the estimates of allocated resources along with other backup documents like S curves, cash flows and resource histograms
Implementing and maintaining project controls related to time and cost management.
Reviewing and assessing contractor extension of time claims and responding to claim notifications
Administering construction contracts and consultancy services agreements.
Drafting, assessing and arranging the execution of consultancy and sub-consultancy agreements and any associated variation orders.
Implementing and maintaining change management systems
Reviewing and assessing interim payment certificates, applicable to construction contracts and consultancy agreements.
Drafting and arranging issue of contractual correspondence to clients and contractors, addressing numerous contractual and commercial matters.
Supporting the drafting, review and issue of consultancy services invoices.
Preparation and Management of Risk Register.

During his time as a Senior Planning Engineer on these project, Jayachandran was involved in planning, project coordination and providing contractual support across the projects. This assignment involved liaising with a project team consisting of specialist subcontractors that required robust coordination and planning, emphasised by the complex nature and status of the project, as well as the strict timelines. His duties and responsibilities extended to:
Preparation and update of the baseline programme in Primavera (P6).
Preparation of Daily, Weekly and Monthly progress reports.
Preparation and update of several additional works programmes in P6 and other formats.
