Unload sea containers of imported goods. Check the invoices, pack goods in pallets and store them. Approve the invoices for compensation.

Management of a 25.000m2 multi temperature warehouse, including frozen goods, positive cold and dry goods. The warehouse handles an average of 110.000 boxes per day of picking. The total SKU were 12.000. I managed 255 workers. The delivery trucks were 55 to supply 265 points of sales, this fleet was subcontracted.
Key responsibilities and achievements:
§ The brand “minipreço” has 265 points of sales in the south part of Portugal including Lisbon’s metropolitan area. All these shops are supplied by this warehouse. In total minipreço has 600 shops and 3 warehouses.
§ In 2008, the warehouse had 70 trucks in the delivery services, over a couple of years the fleet became reduced to 55 subcontracted trucks.
§ The warehouse structure had around 300 workers. Under my leadership, with a downsizing program it became 255 working persons.
§ Development of a new prize system production bonus, managed to increase the average number of boxes prepared per person per hour, from 200 to 245 boxes picked per person per hour.
§ Reorganized the warehouse lay-out by an ABC curve of sales.
§ Responsible for renewing the recruitment process
§ Responsible for the reverse logistics processes according to the environmental laws for recyclable waste, ie. cardboard and plastic.
§ Responsible for the reverse logistic of Chep pallets and fruit boxes (pooling system).

Management of a multi temperature warehouse of the biggest dairy company in Portugal. Lactogal has goods in all dairy product categories, includes UHT milk, cheese, butter yogurts amongst others. Also has dry goods like juices and water (FMCG).
Key responsibilities and achievements:
§ Management of a 70 employees team, working on rotating shifts whose mission was to supply dairy goods to all supermarket companies, small retail and HORECA clients.
Negotiation of all contracts needed to the full operation of the warehouse, i.e. transportation, cleaning, maintenance, security and outside warehousing.
Definition/Expansion of the new warehouse to double the storage area. Responsible for installing a new software for warehouse management, new equipment, new picking methods with radio frequency scanners and new picking circuits
Supervision of all subcontracted construction works.
Responsible for the clients complains in Lisbon area. Had to collect damaged goods and send them to lab analyses. Afterwards had to give feedback to clients and pay compensations according to products value. In extreme situations had to schedule pull backs to factory units.
