Job Description:
1. Maintain and sustain the hospital drug distribution system for pharmacies, nursing units and outpatient clinics.
2. Regularly make the drug purchase requisition form and forward it to the purchasing office.
3. Forecasting of drug consumptions and replenishment of medications. Review stocks and supplies.
4. Monitor closely deliveries of stocks, correctness of items, proper delivery handling and proper control temperature for refrigerated items.
5. Receive Purchase Orders and encode in Oracle software system.
6. Follow up medication purchase orders from agents, evaluates time delivery management and handling.
7. Finalize balance inventory monitoring and reporting, accurately checking the receiving of in and out of stocks.
8. Oracle software user – encoding move transfer order and move issue orders as well as transacting move orders. Receiving receipts through PO numbers, data item summary, transactions, item balance, consumptions and inventory.
9. Analyze in and out of loans and borrowing from agents and other hospitals.
10. Check the correct and appropriate medications acquired by pharmacies and clinical wards. Handle inquiries of out-of-stock items.
11. Checking all prepared orders before releasing from drug store to all hospital units based on approved sub-store list.
12. Classify the new formulary drugs entered to be coded in the system.
13. Regularly monitors pharmaceutical items and checks for near expired and deteriorated medications.
14. Received all expired items from pharmacy and units/clinics for replacement if considerably deemed necessary.
15. Review all the store safety requirements (Fire, Shelves positions, drugs places, standard requirements,)
16. Regularly informs all pharmacies, units and clinics regarding unavailable medications that they require when it is delivered.
17. Keeps an open communication with pharmacy and nursing department regarding medication, its availability status and substitutes.
