DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To liaise with all airlines operating in Oman, ULD requirement for their flights and to organize required ULD’s and cargo build up based on respective airlines loading instructions.

• To ensure planned and manifested cargo ULD’s are arranged and dispatched to the Ramp side for respective flights. And to ensure ULD tags are affixed.

• To ensure correct procedures are followed while handling/loading special loads.

• To liaise with Load control when having space problem and to ensure maximum optimization.

April 2003 to January 2008 Cargo Services Agent/Officer at Gulf Air, Muscat, Oman

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To follow HDQ load plans for critical flights and to ensure maximum uplift and avoid flights going under load.

• To give load plans to GHA and follow up with them that the load plan is correctly followed.

• To check if build up ULD’s are compatible to the operating aircraft type.

• To manifest and update system after departure of the flights.

• Sending pre alert telexes for special loads and Ramp transfer advices to route stations having quick ramp transfers with short connection time and ensure GF Ramp transfer procedures are adhered.

• To monitor flights in ramp and coordinate with load control to ensure all planned and manifested cargo are uplifted and to avoid sending flight with No fit positions especially on critical flights. And ensure special loads if any are handled according to the procedure.

• To liaise with load control in case of space constraint.
• To maintain station uplift/statistics on daily basis.

• To check and reply telexes and emails during the shift and follow up with GHA if reported irregularities have been rectified and corrective measures are implemented to avoid recurrence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• To co-ordinate with the senior management with day to day activities and to introduce new systems in achieving the task of improving the operations.

• To check and reply e-mails and telexes and to find solutions for the queries brought up by out stations.

• To ensure complete data capture in system including ramp transfers.
• To check and ensure all shipments appearing in the daily warehouse inventory done by GHA are duly booked in our system, and if any left behind shipments are detected to bring to the notice of tracing department of our GHA and to ensure such shipments are booked and forwarded in the first available flight.

• To ensure the load plans given by HDQ are correctly followed by handling agent and ensure maximum cargo uplift especially on critical flights.

• To monitor cargo and courier movement at ramp and ensure all planned and manifested cargo are loaded on the flights.

• To monitor special loads such as dangerous goods, perishable shipments, human remains, live animals are properly handled and stored according to the IATA regulations. To adjust the cargo loads of the flights (to increase or rebook if over booked) taking passenger load and the aircraft type of the flight into consideration.

July 2010 to January 2013 Ramp Duty Officer (Acting Ramp Duty Manager) at Gulf Air, Bahrain (Hub)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Check and ensure that Ramp Equipment Operators and Ramp Agents are well trained and competent to operate ground equipment and have valid license with respect to loading, weight and balance and dangerous goods handling.

• Inspect ramp and equipment before aircraft arrival to ensure ramp free from foreign objects and equipment level available and serviceable.

• Monitor and ensure that all Ground Safety and Security procedures and
“Dangerous Goods” loading/unloading procedures are effectively implemented and observed by ramp personnel during his/her shift in order to secure aircraft, ground equipment and staff from any damage or injury.

• Inspect aircraft in-plane hold system and ensure its serviceability as well as adequately equipped with intact nets.

• Ensure sufficient ULDs stock level is available at the station safely handled and are serviceable.

• Direct and supervise baggage processing to ensure correct tagging and segregation of baggage at make-up area during shift duty.

• Check baggage details (DCS K-EDIT) on every departing flight to ensure accuracy and take immediate corrective action on any shortfalls.
• Supervise offload of baggage to ensure speedy delivery of inbound (interline and online baggage) and ensure all baggage is safeguarded from pilferage or damage.

• Direct and supervise ground handling agent personnel when transferring interline baggage, ensure baggage is efficiently segregated, reconciled and timely processed for loading on the designated connecting flight.

• Ensure all disembarking passengers at baggage claim area receive their baggage within the established standard time of baggage delivery.

• Notify previous or other route station of any mixed loading of baggage on aircraft. Liaise with Baggage Tracing Office (lost and found) check AHL, OHD and ensure prompt action taken for immediate recovery of mishandled baggage.

• Maintain log system for baggage and ramp activities, highlight shortfalls and submit details to higher management for further corrective action.

• Ensure that restricted items are safely handled in the appropriate compartment on the aircraft. Prepare daily statistics report on baggage mishandling and highlight shortfalls. Provide feedback to management team for service improvements to ensure GF provides the best service to customers.

• Monitor to maximize loading of baggage and cargo for out bound flights to utilize capacity space to avoid any offloading. And if any offloading of baggage to liaise with GHA and ensure concerned station is being informed with the tag numbers and number of pieces of off loaded baggage before the arrival of flight in that station. Then to ensure same forwarded with priority on next available flight.

• To monitor and check the inbound flights if other stations have followed the QTB and other baggage procedure as per GOM. If not to report and give the feedback to concerned stations.

• Prepare daily statistics report on baggage mishandling and highlight shortfalls. Provide feedback to management team for service improvements to ensure GF provides the best service to customers.

June 2014 to January 2015 Head of Sales & Operations - Cargo at Delmege Aviation Services (PVT) LTD., GSA for Philippine Airlines Cargo for Sri Lanka & Maldives.

I was recruited immediately after Delmege Aviation Services was appointed as the GSA for Philippine Airlines Cargo and I was instrumental in setting it up in Colombo from the scratch as this was the first time a GSA was appointed for Philippine Airlines Cargo in Sri Lanka. And I am honored to have been given the opportunity to set things up from preparing Budget & P&L in liaison with the top management and Finance, setting up the office, creating letter head, obtaining required DGCA approvals, construction of cargo rates in liaison with Philippine Airlines HQ in Manila, recruiting staff and most of all creating a customer base in Colombo etc., etc.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Promoting Philippine Airlines Cargo in Sri Lanka and ensure Load & Revenue targets are achieved.
• Ensure maximum yield/profit to the GSA generated through every shipment by negotiating SPA rates on ADHOC basis with the first carrier and also with Philippine Airlines HQ.
