● Able to make reports particular with receiving, parts evaluation, service reports, technical parts information and technical service information.
● Overhauling of engines: 4D98, 6D102, 6D107, 6D114, 6D125 and 6D140 Series engines
● Fabrication of adapters for engine stand
● Reconditions and repair of engine and emission system components such as EGR, water pump and other accessories (fan drive, tensioner, fuel pump drive, etc.)
● Check, evaluate and measures the clearances and plays in the engine based on the shop manual criteria.
● Customer onsite support for all Komatsu machines
● Engine troubleshooting.
● Check machine performance (PM CLINIC).
● Carries out servicing as per operations and maintenance manual and schedule
● Repair and maintenance on various Komatsu earthmoving equipment at the workshop and on site.
● Able to remove and install engine, transmission, pumps, control valves, cylinders, radiator assembly and other components of the machine.
● Performs inspection on machines. (Predelivery, delivery and receiving inspection)
● Knows how to use KOMATSU EXTRANET (A Komatsu web site where in you can view and download manuals, information and standard forms. Examples are Shop manuals, Operation Maintenance Manuals, Field assembly manuals, Parts Book, Guidance for reusable parts, Assembly check sheets).
● Able to use diagnostic tools, power tools and equipment.
● Remove, resealing and installation of hydraulic cylinders.
● Assembly of machines at the workshop and on site. (Installation of counterweight, boom assembly, arm assembly on excavators, blade and arms on bulldozers, dump box installation on dump trucks, etc.)

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Receive and inspect engines and other components for missing and damage parts for engine, transmission, hydraulic pump, control valves, etc.
• Disassembly and inspection on engine outer and inner parts for their cause of failure especially for warranty engines.
• Knows how to use measuring tools for evaluation of engine parts (Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Bore gauge, Push-pull gauge, Depth gauge, etc.).
• Evaluate engine parts for their re-usability (Crack check on cylinder head and block, Load test on valve springs, checking roundness of cylinder liner, pistons and piston pins, straightness of crankshaft, wear on crankshaft main and crank pin journal, etc.).
• Responsible in making parts recommendation from missing, damaged and normally replaceable parts.
• Overhaul engines based on the shop manual procedure, testing and specifications. (Vacuum testing on cylinder heads, liner protrusion, valve lapping, checking clearances on crankshaft main and crankpin bearings, crankshaft end play, checking backlash and axial clearance on gears, piston ring end gap, proper tightening torque on bolts, valve clearance, Facial and radial run-out between flywheel and flywheel housing, etc.).
• Set up and testing of engine into Dynamometer.
• Repair and maintenance on various Komatsu earthmoving equipment at the workshop and on site.
• Carries out servicing and as per operations and maintenance manual and schedule.
• Able to remove and install engine, transmission, pumps, control valves, cylinders, radiator assembly, suspensions and other components on various Komatsu machines.
