I am Mohannad Jameel Shoukat Mohammed, 38, Jordanian citizen, holding the BA degree in the major of English language and literature from the state-run Hashemite University in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan dated February 2004.  Since March 2004, I have been working as Arabic-English translator for a number of local companies operating in the State of Qatar.  Over the past 15 years, I have attained translation, and administrative and communications skills, social media monitiring skills, as well as internet-based research skills. Furthermore, I have attained the capability of adapting to and showing flexibility toward changes in the work environment, working for different work teams, and working in the day and evening shifts. Educational Certificates:

·       General secondary school (high school) certificate issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Education. This certificate states that I achieved only 87% in the literary branch in the year 2000.

Work Experiences:

·       In March 2004, I joined Qatari International Trading Company, known as QIT, a private sector company based in Qatar. I worked under the sponsorship of that company for a translation project known as the Combined Media Processing Center (CMBC) as subcontractor translator for the US Government-As Sayliyah US military camp, in Qatar. I had worked there from March 2004 until 31 December 2006.

·       Under the sponsorship of Qatari Gulf Supplies and Commercial Services (GSCS) Company from February 2007 until 31 December 2008, I joined another translation project as subcontractor translator for the US Government at the same US military camp called Open Source Center (OSC) project. Note: The GSCS Company was in partnership with in partnership with US Company Allworld Language Consultants (ALC) for the OSC translation project.

·       From 3 January 2009 until 19 September 2015, I had worked for Qatari private company known as Middle East Business Solution (MEBS), in partnership with US Company STG, in the OSC project.

·       Since 2007 until 2015 in the OSC project, I assumed the responsibility of monitoring, selecting, and translating media materials and press items from websites and social networking websites. I conducted translations of these items from Arabic into English. Moreover, I assumed the responsibility of providing English-written descriptions and full translations of video releases and audio releases.  In addition, in the OSC project, from time to time, I assume administrative responsibilities that include sending and replying to work-related e-mails, distributing tasks, and coordinating with teammates and colleagues from various work teams.

·       From 3 December 2015 until 10 November 2019, I had been worked as contractor Arabic-English translator for Hospitality Department – Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) in Doha in the State of Qatar under the sponsorship of Qatari StarLink Company contracting the HMC Hospitality Department since December 2015. At HMC Hospitality Department, I mainly worked for Security-Hospitality Department/HMC and for other departments affiliated with HMC Hospitality Department including housekeeping, catering, mail service, training and transport departments. During my previous work experience in the HMC Hospitality Department, I translated reports of security incidents occurring at HMC hospitals and facilities from Arabic to English. Moreover, I conducted the Arabic and English translations of memos, reports, policies, procedures, and instructions, contracts, correspondences, e-mails, official letters and other documents related to the HMC Hospitality Department. Furthermore, upon the requests of line-managers of HMC Hospitality Department, I sometimes provided verbal translations during job interviews and small business meetings. Note: I have left the HMC Hospitality Department after filing a formal resignation to my sponsor company StarLink and HMC Hospitality Department since I was moving forward with a better job opportunity. On 22 October 2019, HMC Hospitality Department issued an official English-formatted letter stating my four-year experience as Arabic-English translator at HMC Hospitality Department.

·       Since 18 November 2019, I have been working as associate-content writer at the building of Communications Regulatory Authority for a project of Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) in the State of Qatar. Since 17 November, I have started processing sponsorship transfer to Malomatia (Qatari semi-governmental company) contracting the MOTC. In the content writing team at the MOTC, we are responsible for monitoring Qatari Arabic and English news websites and the MOTC website, selecting news items, creating Arabic and English news contents by providing translations and posting these news reports on Qatar Official e-Government Portal, Hukoomi.

1)   Certificate of two-year service for the Combined Media Processing Centers (CMBC)-Qatar from March 2004 until February 2006.

2)   Certificate issued by the OSC project on 28 December 2008 certified that I am as OSC linguist capable of producing high quality translations from the Arabic language into proper idiomatic American English. This document recognizes successful completion of training in broadcast media and press monitoring skills and united States Government Arabic-to-English translation style guidelines and standards on behalf of the OSC Bureau in Doha, Qatar.

3)   Certificate of service issued by the ALC Company for professional service while serving as Arabic/English translator/journeyman for the ALC in support of the OSC-Qatar project from February 2007 until 31 December 2008.

4)   Certificate of promotion issued by STG-MEBC companies in 2009 certified that I was promoted to a journeyman linguist position.

5)   Certificate of training issued by STG-MEBC companies on 27 May 2010 certified that I successfully completed a training course on sentence structure and translation skills held at STG/MEBS training facility in Doha, from 20 April to 27 May 2010.

6)   Certificate of promotion issued by STG/MEBS companies on 6 October 2010 certified that I was promoted to quality control Arabic translator reaching the dissemination-ready level.

7)   Certificate of appreciation issued by STG/MEBS companies on 11 July 2013 was in recognition of my continuing invaluable service and outstanding in the OSC-Doha project.

8)   Certificate of appreciation issued by STG Company in September 2015 is in recognition of my excellent performance as a quality control Arabic translator.

9)   On Thursday, 28 January 2016, HMC Hospitality Department in Qatar granted me the certificate of attendance for one-day workshop/training program in Arabic entitled “World of Communication” dated 28 January 2016. The program aims to make HMC employees attain the effective communication skills in spoken and written languages. The program explains phases of conducting phone calls in accordance with HMC’s professional standards. The program also explains how to formulate and prepare professional e-mails. Moreover, the program explains how to write brief reports and memos. In October 2018, I received three certificates of attendance for three workshop/training programs in Arabic and English titled “World of Welcome,” “World of Service” and “World of Opportunities” conducted by HMC Hospitality/Training Department. These different training courses are about customer service skills.

Personal Activities:

·       From time to time, I read English-speaking books touching on political and economic issues. In addition, I read studies and researches released by well-known international think tanks.  Furthermore, I always read news reports and articles from, Arab, US and British news websites, English-speaking and Arabic-speaking websites and websites of international organizations. These activities are in an attempt to widen my knowledge horizons, out of my belief that knowledge is the source of power and the best way to attain success.

·       I have previously worked as a freelancer/translator for a number of private companies in Qatar.

·       In August 2014, I received the certificate of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)/General Training Module Category from the British Council in Doha. The certificate issued on 28 August 2014 states that I scored 5.5 out of 9.

·       In May 2017, I received the certificate of the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)/General Training Module Category from the British Council in Doha. The certificate issued in May 2017 states that I scored 6 out of 9.

Personal Skills:

·       Working for the abovementioned companies have enhanced my basic computer skills and internet-based search skills. Moreover, working with people from various ethnic, social, cultural, religious, and scientific backgrounds has enhanced my personal, professional, and managerial skills.

Objectives:

·       My major objectives are to bolster my translation and knowledge and experience in various domains of translation in Arabic and English. In addition, my ultimate goal is to attain the highest level of professionalism and creativity in the translation skills, interpersonal communication skills and administrative skills.
