Summary

I am a diligent, innovative, self-motivated dedicated and hardworking person who works efficiently both personally and as a team even when under pressure and with little or no supervision. I am a self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills. I enjoy working with people while remaining confident and good humoured. I have over 8 years’ experience ranging from office based design to construction supervision, geotechnical surveys and soil investigation to supervision of civil works and detailed design of civil engineering projects. I have been involved in carrying out; Detailed Design, Preparation of Contract/tender Documents and Bill of Quantities, payment certificate for approvals; assisting respective engineers with hydraulic and structural design of various proposed infrastructure designs in the water, sanitation and hygiene sector including dams, water supply, sanitation and irrigation. He is also working in the preparation of the bills of quantities and issuing of working drawings to the contractor. He has over 4 years in positions of increasing responsibility within the Kenya Defense Forces mainly as a Security Officer/Inspector of Works and supervising the implementation of various civil engineering works projects for the Armed Forces. Besides, I have proficient knowledge in the various design software including AutoCAD, Orion, SewerCAD, WaterCAD, ArchGIS, Google Map and Global Mapper.

Responsibilities

Preparing EOIs and technical proposals;
Carrying out the review and updating of designs of all the structural components of projects: Developing schematics layouts and performing structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, and experience, providing layout and detailed portions of projects using schematic layout.
Studying sketches by key engineering experts and deciphering the specifications; Preparing two- and three-dimensional models and drawings using AutoCADCivil3D, PROKON, Orion and Tekla with high precisions and as per scale, Incorporating all details of the drawing;
Preparing dam, water supply and sanitation drawings according to the standards and terms of the client; storing and filing the drawings as soft copy/prints in an organized manner.
