NURSING SKILLS/ JOB DESCRIPTION:

·         Makes rounds to ensure that all patients in the unit receive necessary care.

·         Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates the clinical/emotional requirements of clients with complex, palliative and end of life care needs.

·         Monitors, reports and records vital signs, symptoms and changes in patients condition.

·         Protects patient’s rights and keeping informations confidential.

·         Administers medications and intravenous infusions and monitors for side effects and reactions. As well as ensuring medicine management policies and procedures are adhered to.

·         Modifying patient health treatment plans as indicated by patient condition, responses and improvements.

·         Makes referral to attending physician when necessary.

·         Maintains a safe environment within the unit taking into account health and safety, including infection and risk assessments.

·         Maintains continuity of care within the unit by documenting and communicating interventions done, irregularities and special endorsements.

·         Ensures the economical and appropriate use of all resources within the unit and check proper functioning, safe use and maintenance of equipments/technical apparatus.

·         Participates and conducts nursing supplies inventory to determine inventory level, anticipate needed supplies, placing orders for lacking supplies. And even, audits delivery of care to maintain high standards through best practice.

·         Maintains personal and professional knowledge and development by attending training and seminars.
