EXPERIENCE

Laatu Energy Solutions

Senior site foreman: 2019.

Worked as a senior site foreman for Laatu Energy Solution contracted by ABB Zambia to upgrade the system control of the Kafue Gorge Power Station (ZESCO).

• Overseen the installation and wiring of instruments in the generator and turbine units.

• Supervising a team installing the Ethernet cabinets and all electronic equipments.

• Cable gland and lugs installation on electrical control panels and cables.

• Cable terminations for the new installed and existing panels.

• Cable rack installation and cable dressing.

• To ensure all terminations have ferrules before commissioning and loop checks done.

• Installation and wiring of all control panels.

• Installation of 10kva UPS panels, cable pulling from the UPS to the equipments, conduits, switches, resistors, circuit breakers, fixtures and alarm equipments for safety.

• Installation of fiber optic patch panels and cords in the control cabinets and the sub stations.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Phase one of the Kafue Gorge Power Station control system upgrade completed with minimal challenges and commissioned. Replaced all analog instruments with digital and old control panels with new panels.

Supervising technicians in all the tasks carried out over the course of the project and ensured all work done safely.

First Quantum Minerals Kalumbila.

Assistant supervisor 2017-18:

Fault finding and maintenance of all field process, analyzers, fire and gas detecting instruments.

Assisting the supervisor and field technicians execute their work. Preventive maintenance of water treatment instruments and all instruments on the high/low pressure lines supplying the milling, flotation and concentrate filtration plants. Compressor routine maintenance. Installation and maintenance of speed sensors on the mill drives. Troubleshooting of all instrumentation break downs. Weighbridge, scale maintenance and calibration. ACHIEVEMENTS

Managed to reduce down time on breakdowns especially in the water services and Laboratory sections which are very critical in the process plant for floatation and slurry disposal.

First Quantum Minerals Kansanshi Mine Plc.

Instrument/Electrical technician 2012-14:

Worked with the projects section at kansanshi mine. Commissioned Acid plant 5 and installed all instruments/electrical VSD installation, set-up and commissioning, point to point cable tracing. Electrical cable meggering and equipments testing in the gold plant regrind project. Switching and isolation of high tension voltage switch gears such as ; vacuum and oil circuit breakers 11KV 1250A.Maintenance on all conveyor belt drives, protection devices and winches on counter-weights. Worked on the installation of the ring network of fiber optic to improve the communication system of the plant.

Installation and maintenance of avigiron CCTV cameras at acid plant 5 and high pressure leach plant. Installation, set up and calibration of various process control instruments, valves and switches.

Knowledge on (SIMOCODES) Sirius motor management and control devices of various starting methods and Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).

Worked on Hydraulic motors 525V driving reclaim feeder belts.

Repair and maintenance of 3.3KV crusher motors liquid resistor starters Repair and maintenance of control and power circuits of conveyor belts, pull Switches, belt drift, belt rip, and blocked chute.

Repair and maintenance of Pebble Crushers 550V and pebble electromagnets Maintenance and repair of various lighting systems and circuits, photocells, time switches, Becker lamps, sodium vapor lamps, emergency lamps.
