Job Summary:
Provides professional nursing care in assigned unit. Performs frequent patient evaluations, including monitoring and tracking vital signs, performing procedures such as IV placement, and administering medications. Develops the day-to-day nursing care plans both in hospital, and for care after discharge by families that which includes family teaching.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
• Receiving endorsement/hand over for outgoing duty am/pm shift
• Overall reporting to OB on internal side including babies in NICU with moms still confined at the hospital for the shift
• Going through all the files for admissions and discharges including procedures,
and orders to be done
• Checking on baby’s condition on rounds, giving vaccines ( BCG, Hepatitis B,
and HBIG ) and instructions on baby’s feeding and care
• Receiving endorsement from MW/MA on baby’s admission; preparing the files.
Routine admission cares done. Put baby under warmer for at least 30-45 minutes.
• Checking and ensuring that baby’s ID bands are correct and the same with the mother’s ID bands during the rooming in
