DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES​

Duties and Responsibilities as Surgical Technician

• Assist in all Major and Minor cases as First Scrub
(Neuro-Surgery, Orthopedics/Spine Surgery, General Surgery and Oncology, HNS-ENT, Urology, Laparoscopic, Arthroscopic Surgery and, Transplant Surgery)
• Completeness of Equipment, Instruments, Machines and Supplies in the  OR –  theater before the procedure.
• Securing of patients safety Intra-Op and Post Operatively.
• Cleaning of patient prior to transfer to the recovery room.
• Cleaning of instrument after the procedure.
Duties and Responsibilities as Instrument Technician/Instrument Room Technician

• Receiving and cleaning of instruments after the procedure.
• Repacking and sealing of instruments depending on what type of sterilization is needed.
• Inventory of instruments and update all kardex for preference card.
• Receiving and checking of newly arrived instruments and equipment.
• Inspect cleanliness working action and condition of all procedure requiring sterilization
• Sterilizes products by established methodology.
• Takes direct and appropriate actions in urgent and emergency critical thinking situations.
• Participates in teaching and mentoring of newly hired nurses, interns and residents.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Ensures maintenance and safe keeping of instruments and medical equipment.
• Adheres with hospital infection control and safety protocols.
