I have done my M.Phil. in Genetics and BS (Hons) Biotechnology and strong desire to work as a scientist for the well-being of human beings beyond their caste, creed, color, and religion.
I have done research at both BS and M.Phil. Degree level, on BS level I worked on Environmental Side and at my M.Phil. level, my research was on the Molecular side, it is my strong desire to further proceed with my research at the Ph.D. level.
It is my strong desire to work in an environment where I can groom and polish myself under supervision of well experienced and dynamic people, I have the ability and passion to work as a team member as well as a team leader. Beyond this, I am working as a volunteer with the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan since 2006 and educating the people about their basic rights.
During my research work, I have studied four leaf rust resistant genes i.e. Lr10, Lr26. Lr34 and Lr47 in indigenous selected 38 wheat varieties. The aim of this study was the identification of selected four Lr genes as well as its morphological study.
The specific objectives of this study were to determine:
• Identification of Lr10, Lr26, Lr34 and Lr47 genes in selected wheat varieties.
• Extraction of DNA from samples following standard protocols.
• Quantitative and Qualitative analysis of Extracted DNA samples.
• Amplification of desired DNA sequences by PCR while using specific molecular markers.
• Confirming the presence or absence of desired bands on Gel electrophoresis while using specific Ladders.
• Identification of the size and location of desired genes on chromosome.
• Studying fourteen different morphological characters of selected wheat varieties.
• Comparison of leaf rust resistant and rust susceptible varieties.
• Studying various methods of transferring the Lr genes to susceptible varieties in the future and developing GM wheat varieties.
During my research I have studied the degradation of toxic dye Malachite Green by fungal species i.e. Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus Niger and Alternarai Solani. I have used the dye as a media for the fungal species and up to 98% of fungal species converted the dye into water and CO2.
The aim of the research was to degrade this highly toxic and carcinogenic dye because it is the waste from various industries and causes water, air, and soil pollution.
