Medical and Surgical Units

Job Description / Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receives patient through endorsement.
• Make nurses rounds assessing patients physical, mental and emotional conditions.
• Understanding responsible nursing care and supervisions of patients.
• Execution of nursing procedures and techniques.
• Administering medication (oral, sublingual, intramuscular, parenteral).
•  Intravenous insertion, urinary catheterization, nasogastirc tube insertion, tube feeding,
• Perform gastric lavage
• Do oral and endotracheal suctioning
• Proper reporting and recording of pertinent assessments and observations.

Intensive Care Unit

Job Description / Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Receive patient from  ER or other nursing  units.
• Prepare the room medicines and equipments needed prior to arrival of the patients.
• Carries out medication, examination and treatment as ordered by the physician.
• Taking vital signs every thirty (30) minutes.
• Intake and output monitoring every hour done.
• Give nasogastric feeding every four hours / every six hours as ordered.
• Provide morning care to patients.
• Make patient comfortable, providing room conducive for recovery.
• Hourly checking for inputs and outputs for venoclysis, blood transfusion,urine and other discharges from the patient.
• Hourly checking for IVF site, rate and patency.
• Perform irrigation, urethral catheterizations and give enemas as ordered.
• Suctioned secretions as needed.
• Observed for unusual sign and symptoms and  refer accordingly.
• Prepare and provide instructions for discharge from ICU to patient’s family, and inform the hospital unit if patient had order for trans out from ICU to other nursing unit.
• Initiate proper documentation.

OB-Gyne Care Unit

Job Description / Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Receive patient from delivery room or operating room.
• Monitoring of vital signs
• Carrying out doctor’s order.
• Ensuring safety of patient (placing side rails).
• Administering medications as ordered.
• Performing vaginal douching, insert foley bag catheter, perineal flushing, perilite exposure to post partum patient with normal delivery.
• Recording and reporting for post partum patients with uterine atony and profuse vaginal  bleeding.
