Job Description: Fabricate metal components to assemble structural forms, such as arm of pay loader and boom of backhoe, using knowledge of welding techniques and engineering requirements. Includes experimental welders who analyze drawings and specifications to plan welding operations where procedural information is unavailable.

Duties and Responsibilities:  Before I will start my duty I’ll wear my personal protective equipment (PPE) because safety first is the most important in every job.  By using crane I will put the metal product to designated places in order to start measuring the specific measure according to the drawing plan or blueprint.  After measuring the product I am using a jig to double check the measurement and then I will do tack-weld after that I will weld the metal product.  After welding the product I will check the bead size if it’s correct according to drawing plan. Then I will put it inside the robot by using crane.  If there is a blowhole or defect I will personally repair it by using gauging machine and repair it.  While the robot is operating I will prepare again another product to put inside the robot so that I can accomplish my quota every day.  When the robot finished to weld I will take the product by using crane and put it into the positioner to do the finishing part of welding because there are some places that the robot can’t reach that’s why I will do that part.  After doing the finishing part I will bend by free heating the product using gas then I will check the measurement by using jig or metal tape measure then send it to the machining.
