April 2011-September 2015: Associate researcher-I at Ethiopian Institute of Agricultural Research, Ambo, Ethiopia

September 2002- August 2005 and August 2008-March 2011: Instructor/ teacher at Nedjo Agricultural College in Ministry of Agriculture; during this period, besides teaching, I had been serving as follows:

  • Senior instructor (teaching courses like Soil science, Industrial crops, Field crops production, Vegetable crops production, Plant protection, etc.) in the department of Plant Sciences.
  • Focal person of Technology Accumulation and Transferring of Agricultural TVET College (Nov.2010-March 2010)
  • Process owner of the College’s HRM (September 2009-October 2010)
  • As a Dean of the College delegation (June 2007-October 2007) and (January 2010-May 2010)
  • Head of the department of Plant Sciences of the College (April 2005-March 2007)

May 1999-August 2002: I had been serving as an Agronomist at Iluababor Zonal level Agricultural Development Department; besides, I was working in Early Warning System of Disaster Prevention and Preparedness technical committee.

October 1996-April 1999: I had been serving an Agronomist and Crop Protection Head at Halu-Bure district of Iluababor Zone.

Education and qualifications

2015 to present – PhD candidate (prospective graduate of 2020), Haramaya University, Dire Da’wa, Ethiopia. GPA: 3.87; the dissertation on which I have been working is entitled “Response of Highland Maize (Zea mays L.) to Fertilizer Application in West Shoa Zone, Central Ethiopia”.

2006-2008   MSc in Dryland Agronomy, Mekelle University, Mekelle, Tigray, Ethiopia.  GPA:3.55; the thesis was entitled “Intercropping of Soybean and Maize with emphasis on Spatial Arrangements in Nedjo area”. Passed with “Very Good” result.

1992-1996          BSc in Agriculture (in Plant Science), Alemaya University of Agriculture, Dire Da’wa, Ethiopia.
