MAJOR JOB FUNCTIONS:
ü Collaborates with the Assistant Chief Nurse in developing applicable policies and standard for the improvement of patient care.

ü Checks important documents such as daily time records of personnel and patient hospital records for completeness ans accuracy, consolidates weekly, monthly and quarterly reports of hospital outputs.
ü Participates in different nursing committees when necessary.
ü Performs other related functions as maybe assigned.
ü Assess and diagnose patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients.
ü Identify and document patient’s plan of care and health teaching within 12 hours of admission.
ü Develop, discuss, and communicate realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient/ family/
significant other in order to address all identified needs.
ü Demonstrate the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
ü Demonstrate proper procedures in all methods of medication administration while observing the 10 rights for administering medications.
ü Administer blood and blood products, maintaining IV access in accordance with the standards of the hospital.
ü Ensure the safety and welfare of the patient from admission to discharge including the safe transfer and transfer of patient.
ü Evaluate the identified problems, care provided, and patient’s response are reassessed in order to meet patient and family needs to assure overall quality of care delivered.
ü Maintain an accurate documentation of nursing care and ensure patient confidentiality and integration of information to the health care team.
ü Participate actively in the in-service education program of the hospital and attends all required safety training programs.
ü  Support and promote the hospital’s Infection Control Programs and guidelines.
ü  Demonstrate, respect, and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
