COVER LETTER:

To whom it may concern,

I am writing to apply for the Coordinator position at ESPN. I have been seeking an opportunity to join an organization that is making a real difference due to its successful social influence, and feel that this job is a perfect fit for me. I also believe that my education and hospitality experience, combined with my skill and passion for successful execution would make me a great asset to your team and your mission.

I have a range of experiences and skills in hospitality that would help me make a difference at ESPN I have worked as a cocktail/bottler server and I have also planned and organized multiple events. I am able to to understand the work required of various positions in order to create a successful event and will be able to implement them accordingly.

As a graduate from the University of Connecticut, I assure you that I am an excellent candidate for this position. I had the opportunity to join SUBOG, which is the University of Connecticut’s concert committee. I was able to oversee annual concerts, festivals, and performances. During this time I  demonstrated my ability to facilitate various events with the help of a great team. I also participated in HuskyThon, which is a student run philanthropy created to raise money for Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. It is an annual event planned and organized by students that involve dances, games, contests and performances. Having attended the University o Connecticut, I am also no stranger to sports and I personally keep up with them on the daily. These experiences allowed me to enhance my knowledge in the organization behind events, along with my communication and leadership skills. Following graduation I chose to work in hospitality in New York. I worked as a cocktail/bottle server and also bartended at times. I eventually worked my way to event planning. I enjoyed being able to work in various positions with one company because it allowed me to grow tremendously. I now possess experience in hospitality not only by serving and organizing events, but I am able to create and maintain a rapport with various clients based on trustworthiness, honesty and successful delivery. I plan to take these skills with me as I further my career.

My drive to contribute to successful events makes me well-suited to serve as part of the ESPN team. I welcome the opportunity to speak with you further about this position.

Thank you  for your time.
