Duties/ Responsibilities:

Assist the farm manager in taking care of cow’s, day to day milking, monitoring and maintaining low somatic cel count (not more than 200), cleaning of shed/cowshed hygiene/shed maintenance, feeding using feeder wagon, drenching, electric fence maintenance/fencing all over farm, detection and treatment of mastitis cows, shifting and maintenance of irrigator (rotorainer), conduct preventive hoof trimming, treating severe lame cows using grinder, hoof knife, shoe and blocks, perform calving and assisted calving to mal-positioned newborn calves using calving jack, monitoring calving run day and night during calving as per schedule of farm owner, vaccination and treatment of sick calves, drenching and weighing of calves to monitor target weight, farm maintenance, in heat cow detection during mating season to ensure high submission rate, weekly farm walk “spring rotational planner” to monitor the growth of the pasture all over the farm to ensure good quality grass and feed budget (input in MINDA), feed wedge, health record, decision making in using supplements, supervise junior staff in the absence of manager/owner.
