Jan 2016 to Nov 2019: BRITAM ASSET MANAGERS (KENYA) LTD
Title: Chief Operating Officer

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Initiate and manage key projects to ensure effective implementation of the business strategy;
• Provide leadership and oversight to business over the fund accounting, customer experience, institutional & retail operations function and IT projects implementation;
• Originate and execute initiatives to enhance revenue growth in terms of sales channel development and key member of product development committee, quality improvement and cost reduction;
• Develop and establish operating policies consistent with the Company’s broad policies and objectives and ensure their adequate execution;

• Responsible for the portfolio administration/operations & performance measurement policies and procedures;
• Review of monthly fund administrators accounts for the African Funds i.e. trial balances, income statements, capital allocations and the balance sheets ensuring adherence with Generally Acceptable Accounting Principles;
• Review all daily and monthly cash and asset reconciliations for portfolios under management
• Ensure that portfolio mix for all pension funds are compliant with the Retirement Benefits Authority (RBA) guidelines and client/policy mandates;
• Follow up with dealer and portfolio managers to ensure that house-view asset allocation recommendations are adhered to through the portfolio management system;
• Carry out due diligence/ Know Your Client (KYC)to all potential clients before ratification of the Investment Management Agreements and ensure all documentations are safely stored after signup of investment mandates and policies;

• Reconcile the portfolio accounting cash books to custodian bank statements and also reconcile the portfolio valuation report’s accrued incomes i.e. dividends and interest to the banks/ custodian banks Portfolio Valuation Reports. Any differences noted followed up with custodian and explanations for such explanation recorded appropriately;
• Ensure that successful trades agree with confirmation notes from custodian banks;
• Proper filling of all trade documentations;
• Monthly performance calculation and performance attribution.

August 2002 to April 2004: ONLINE KENYA TECHNOLOGIES LTD
Title: Assistant Accountant

Duties & responsibilities included:

• Carry out day to day administration of the preparation of monthly invoices, dispatch, subsequent follow up of payments and updating of debtors’ accounts;
• Maintain cash register and ensure that cash, and financial records are properly stored and safely secured at all times;
• Posting cash and petty cash data into QuickBooks and prepare bank reconciliation statements
