QUALITIES

A well-rounded, enthusiastic person with a love for technology, helping others and doing what he can to make the world a better place. Devin has completed his twelve years of formal education, at a private institution, Elkanah House, in South Africa. The subjects completed were English First Language, Afrikaans First Language, Mathematics, Information Technology, Architectural/Illustration Design, Geographical Studies, Life Orientation and as an additional subject, Mathematics Literacy. He achieved high marks in these subjects, and always put in the extra bit of effort to stand out above the rest. Out of the list of subjects, Information Technology was by far the preferred subject. Throughout the senior phase of his formal education, he was constantly helping his peer’s problem solve and debug their projects while also having to focus on his own project. While in the process of studying, and completing his studying, he self-taught four programming languages; C#, C++, Python and Scratch. In these self-taught languages, he also created and Application from start to finish, in two different languages.

Devin was a Social Outreach enthusiast, over a two-year period he completed 156 hours of community service in South African black informal settlements. This process helped mend the damage done by apartheid. One of the projects completed was a redesign and redevelopment of the agricultural area that accompanied an underprivilege, child abuse rehabilitation home. After completing these hours in giving back to the community, he went on to lead others in how to give back to the community.

Currently studying to become a qualified Cisco CCNA Engineer, the course will be completed by the end of April. With extensive previous experience in Networking, this course shouldn’t be a problem and he is eager and adamant to complete this successfully.
