Quality Control Head
Manufacturing Function
Under the administrative guidance of the plant manager, to plan, organize, direct, supervise quality control activities and coordinate with the production and maintenance department all activities to attain high quality products. Such activities re as follows:
· Direct all quality control staff in the attainment of high quality products by ensuring that the objectives of the process control are effectively implemented.
· Defines/develops quality control’s organizational structure and functional responsibilities by ensuring that the duties and responsibilities of subordinates are clearly defined and fixed to their approved position description.
· Organizes regular meetings among subordinates, reviewing areas of responsibility
with the objective of having it done effectively by people through proper coordination.
· Prepares periodic quality control reports in order that the plant manager may be appraised of the day-to-day activities.
· Coordinate with the maintenance engineers regarding operational problems caused by machine failures and arriving at corrective measures.
· Initiates requisitions for direct quality control supplies and other materials required in all quality control operation.
· Assigns work to and direct the activities of personnel, engage in good housekeeping standards, safety and sanitation within his area of responsibility.
· Ensure that machine/equipment and utilities in the bottling areas are properly operated within the manufacturing standards.
· Motivates people and improve their knowledge, attitude and skills, by supplementing information through job training and exercising openness among the group, as well as conducting training program for the development of quality control personnel.
· Participates in the formulation of departmental plans, objectives, policies/procedures and determines that such are understood and enforced of quality control personnel.
· Recommends for approval to the plant manager improvements that may be deemed necessary in the existing operating standards and facilities.
· Coordinates with the bottling mechanical maintenance and head, planning/ research and development section on matters pertaining to the effective implementation of the process control for the purpose of applying corrective action on process control problems that require immediate attention.
Quality Control Supervisor
Duties and Responsibilities
Accountable to pre-process, in-process and post-process controls in the manufacturing function responsibilities:
· Responsible in monitoring bottling line, syrup and water treating operations by ensuring that all the control set required by the company are carried out during the entire operation.
· Ensures that product quality through consistent monitoring test results conducted by the quality control technicians.
· To establish process control records for information and quality control evaluations.
· To provide technical support, advice and decision regarding standard operating procedures.
· Summarize and evaluate reports prepared by technicians for quality assurance information.
· To inspect the sanitary condition and maintain good housekeeping of the entire work areas of operation.
· To inspect and evaluate the reports on raw materials. Materials must be in conformity to company’s standard.
· Perform related functions as assigned.
· Responsible for close continuous review and audit of Laboratory & QA In-line Process Control records to ensure that finished products meet their specification during routine controlled production.
· Responsible for maintaining QA programs per QA Manual requirement and specifications.
· Responsible for supervision and implementation of Quality Programs; GMP/sanitation, Micro, Incoming Raw and packaging materials, Pest Control, Process Control, Calibration, Work Instructions, Test Method Program.
· Responsible for maintaining Six Quality Initiatives Program; Traceability documents, Quality hold, HACCP, Formula, Process & Finished Products Specifications, Ingredients and Packaging Materials Specification Documents.
· Perform and facilitate preventive and corrective actions, and logical decisions based on given specification.
· Meet company and co-packers objectives while complying with federal, state and local regulations.
· Responsible for supervision and adequate training of technical staffs (Quality Control Technicians & Microbiologists) required for certification, inspection, identification and controlling procedures.
· In constant communication with superiors and subordinates to meet company and co-packers policy.
Microbiologist
Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct Micro analysis on raw materials, processed and finished syrup.
· Conduct swabbing of equipments and personnel to prepare the plant for the scheduled production.
· Conduct micro analysis on source and treated water.
· Monitor retained samples for Micro analysis, storage and product complaint.
· Prepare media (conventional method), sterilized reagents and petri dishes needed for micro analysis.
· Chlorination of foot bath, hand dip, warm tunnel, cooling bath, and raw water chlorine monitoring.
· Inspection of received raw and packaging materials, to ensure that all materials passed physical inspection.
· Conducting Swab tests Process filling equipment and mixing tanks, Critical equipment surfaces to ensure a microbe free environment during product filling.
· Identifying critical control points for reducing or eliminating the microbiological risk to product quality.
· Informing Production and relevant operations personnel about corrective quality measures to produce good quality products.
· Conducting detailed analysis of product complaints pertaining to microbiological flaws.
· Maintaining the laboratory facilities and equipment in sanitary condition to obtain accurate and precise results.
· To Ensure that lab equipment are calibrated, does prompt inventory of culture media and reagents observing FIFO system and ensures that records are maintained in an organized manner for quick and easy access.
· Perform other functions as assigned.
