Significant Accomplishments:

·         Through in-house fabrication yards I was involved in ensuring that we provided a seamless interface between engineering, procurement and fabrication.

·         Managed many aspects of single point responsibility delivery which enabled a surety of transfer of the design from the drawing board, through the procurement cycle to the fabricated project modules.

·         Managed many key aspects of the in-house execution methodology which meant at the time that we could take advantage of early design data been transposed into early fabrication allowing for a fast track delivery.

·         Directly involved with the necessary design support, calculations and troubleshooting required for load out of the modules from our fabrication yards.

·         Managed many of the deliveries to site where upon I provided final commissioning assistance at field operations location.

·         Directly involved in the management of the mechanical completion process & verification of approved design installations.

·         Directly involved in construction and commissioning group activities which included integral interface checks between all systems and subsystems whether modular or plant wide.

·         As part of a management team I was involved in the Mechanical Completion Verification that confirmed that construction and installation of equipment, piping, instrumentation, cabling, electrical, telecoms and mechanical components were physically complete and all inspections, testing and documentation requirements had been completed

·         Managed many aspects of the Pre-Commissioning (PC) stage that involved the verification of functional operability of elements within systems, by subjecting them to a set of simulated operational conditions, to achieve a state of readiness for commissioning.

·         Managed many aspects of the commissioning phase which consisted of checking and testing all functions according to their design parameters in conditions as close as possible to the design conditions, and in bringing them to the status “Ready for Start-Up / Operations Readiness”.
Contributed in the following example:

·         A bespoke aggregate feeder 12m Long x 3.2m Wide was manufactured in the UK, for a gold mine in the Solomon Islands. Used in the conveyance of 15,000 tonne of raw Gold Ore per week, through a tunnel system to feed pre-existing, operational infrastructure

·         Successfully featured new innovative technologies that reduced maintenance downtime by 95% within the tunnel system and the maintenance costs for this machine reduced by over $750,000 per year as a direct result of the new innovation (It was successfully designed for shipping / Containerisation while still being able to handle seismic conditions and an applied working load = 10,000 tonne)

·         The above machine was 75% manufactured in the UK and 25% manufactured in China; all delivered components from China aligned & integrated seamlessly; Machine was fully assembled in the UK, tested, validated and commissioned two weeks ahead of time with savings of £40,000 per week of delay

2005-2012 Global Cad-Design & Consultancy:

Director, Project Execution Engineer, Project Site Engineer, Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer

Key Result Areas:

·         Established the stakeholder expectations and brought together cross functional teams from within both Global Cad-Design and other organisations to a position where all parties were in agreement on specific product / project deliverables and expectations

·         Contracted into positions, where led the NPD teams of designers and engineers within client companies, in the development of new, innovative bespoke machinery for the mining industry and other alternate industry projects such as agricultural, utilities, energy and recycling

·         Looked after the entire project management from concept to operational utilisation (including design, testing, research, implementation and training)

·         Designed & developed small/large static and semi-mobile aggregate screening plants throughout the world ranging in value from €80k and €4m

·         Monitored the post-installation environmental tests (such as plant emissions)

·         Imparted expert consultancy support for water retention recycling plants, as well as marking out green-field and existing developed grounds for foundations, electrical & drainage installations

·         Rendered the support with water piping & electrical routes and systems used to feed all dependant plant installations

·         Designed and consulted on mobile plant installations

·         Generated the URS documentation for the automation of plant designs to be controlled by PLC systems and other monitoring systems

Significant Accomplishments:

·         Played a pivotal role in using pioneered innovative techniques and technology to create a market leading solution to a problem faced by the man-made island development (Bespoke leading edge screening machinery used in the development of the world-renowned Palm Island development in Dubai)

·         Successful in reducing the problem encountered by 60%, the processing costs of screening armour material, of a certain size, used in protecting the man made islands, while at the same time increasing its output volume by 80%; within 10 months of a 12moth time frame, we had successfully, designed, manufactured, installed & commissioned a machine that met these requirements and more

·         Contributed in achieving saving per month of production reached 80%, clearly exceeding the 60% target and volume figures exceeded 120% as opposed to that of 80%. Twenty more installations were commissioned and components were mass produced as a result for spares
