George Genesis Pikani is a competent and ambitious Accountant, who has the required qualifications along with comparable accounting and financial skills, budgeting skills and monitoring projects, skills in managing donor funds, administration skills, negotiation skills, ability to interpret financial statement, applies complex and technical regulations and policies as related to donor requirements and accounting procedures in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Accounting Standards (IAS). George Genesis Pikani is an efficient, organized individual, hardworking, dependable with absolute discretion, and excellent attention to detail. CAREER OBJECTIVE
Graduate, Bachelor of Accountancy obtained from Exploit University, ACCA (Part II) – Partly Qualified, and Diploma in Accounting, administered by Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi, with three years working experience in assisting preparation and consolidation of the CO Master budget, phasing, forecasting and review, assisting in the preparation of monthly financial analytical reports, providing effective financial management, and providing support to internal and external audit which I have obtained from my previous job as a Regional Accountant for Malawi Floods Emergency Recovery Project. I also have worked for two years as a District Accountant for Sustainable Agricultural Production, six years as a District Project Accountant for Rural Livelihood and Agricultural Development Project (IRLADp), three years as an Assistant Accountant for
Local Development Fund (LDF) at Salima District Council, two years as a Director of Finance at Nkhatabay District Council, and five years as an Acting Assistant Director of Finance. In addition, I have strong knowledge and experience in Budgeting and monitoring. I’m seeking for a challenging position in a professional organization where in my capacity; I would be able to enhance my skills, experiences and strength in conjunction with the Organization’s goal and objective.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Accounts Payable: Generate, record, execute, and reconcile payments through all stages, including preparation of purchase orders, generation of disbursement vouchers and checks, preparation of wire requests, financial data input into QuickBooks, and monthly bank statement reconciliation.
• Accounts Receivable: Develop monthly projections for cash flow needs in liaison with the program team.
• Helping in reviewing all expense receipts for accuracy, relevance, and legitimacy. Prepare monthly expense reports.
• Ensure that all statutory payments such as WHT & PAYE and fringe benefit vendor payments are paid and remitted on time.
• Payroll preparation
• To ensure that Personal files are properly maintained including documentation such as job description, contract, performance appraisals, etc.
• Budgeting: work with program team in preparation of monthly and quarterly budgets for activities and operations requirements.
• Ensure that online banking access rights are observed and kept. Initiate payment online and advise the authorizer to execute the payment. Ensure that signatories to account records are up to date and records kept safe for future reference.
• Bank Reconciliations of all banks accounts and petty cashbook.
• Grants Management: Making sure that expenditures are within the budget.
• Preparation of Vat claims
• Maintenance of all accounting records and files in accordance with general audit standards (GAAP) and USAID requirements.
• Audit: Prepare all accounting records in accordance with audit standards (USAID and local), and oversee on-site work with auditors, as appropriate.
