Technician.

Accountabilities:

  • Providing operational control in all aspects of running production equipment that include set-up, cleaning, monitor and carry out fault diagnosis and repair.
  • Carrying outAutonomous and Preventive maintenance activities as per the schedule/ plan.
  • Ensure comprehensive records and logs are maintained and effective shift handovers are carried out.
  • Regular quality checks to ensure first class product production.
  • Implementing LEAN manufacturing practice by challenging the norms to identify and propose ideas and solutions that will increase efficiency in production i.e. cost or time through 5s, Kaizen, SMED and standardize operation procedures (SOP).
  • Training and coaching team on changeover sequence, machine operation and ensuring line improvement targets are achieved.
  •  Ownership of one/ others safety and maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness at the Gemba.
  • Management of contractors and other “visiting personnel” when on my area.
    Achievements:
  • Initiated use of poka-yoke during machine set-up adjustment on wrapping machines that reduced change-over time from 30 -15 minutes and also reduced waste by 5%.
  • Having strong work ethics, was nominated and featured in A GREAT PLACE TO WORK video for Mars gcc 2016 that reflected on our 5 principles cultural practice.
  • Initiated to cascade Safety Moments Awareness slides every week and a campaign slogan of ‘See Something, Say Something’ that has significantly contributed to over 1530 days without safety incident in the factory.
  • Since I joined in 2014, the Total Production Score has significantly increased from an average of 76-86% periodically through initiating LEAN manufacturing ideas and collaboration within the team.

Mechanical maintenance technician

Accountabilities:

  • Repaired and maintained machinery equipment, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, cooling tunnel, pumps and gear-boxes, power transmission (shaft and couplings), central oil Lubrication system.
  • Troubleshoot analyzed, recorded data and diagnosed faulty operations and repaired equipment.
  • Carried out total productive maintenance (TPM) to increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness as directed per the schedule, to standards and prepared reports.
  • Coordinating material /spare parts planning related activities encompassing identification of vendors, requirement of specification and offer evaluation.
  • Observed and enforced set health and safety measures as per International standards.
  • Executed support for engineering, installed and commissioning of plant equipment and machines.
  • Identified, evaluated and draft root cause analysis in the event of a breakdown to eliminate machine failure.
    Achievements:
  • Conducted effective FRCA and documentation on spare parts over consumption that resulted to 40% decline on spares replaced on the machines.
  • I was part of installation and commissioning team for bubble gum process line, a project that was completed 9 days ahead of planned timeframe and with a vertical start-up.
