We provide timely, safe and efficient product related information and assistance to our customers (patients, Sales Reps, medical professionals, etc.) regarding the use of Medtronic Diabetes products. In this position, we resolve technical support for customers by troubleshooting, capturing and following-up on Product Observations and Interactions. It is our aim to exceed customer expectations when resolving inquiries/requests, educate customers on the how to’s on basic pump care, programming, infusion set, glucometer and glucose sensor connection, environmental safety precautions, amongst other things concerning their insulin pump system.

Clinical Administrative Coordinator (CAC)

Moving on to being a CAC, our main duty is making Outbound calls to members and their care providers to insure and verify that we are meeting their needs and experience has been adequate. To be able to do so, I handle resolution or inquiries from members and their providers that may include Benefit and Eligibility information, patient service and material requests, explanation of benefits and verifying appropriate ICD-9 and ICD-10 Diagnosis and CPT code usage. I work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage request for services from members and/or providers.  Managing thereferrals process, and processing incoming and outgoing referrals, and prior authorizations are is also one of my primary responsibilities.

As an IPC for the said company, our main duty was to maintain proper verification, notification and scheduling for patient admission, surgeries and the like. Being in UHG, help me broaden my knowledge on what happens at the back office of the medical field. With my experience with Dr. Villa, I acted as his private clinic nurse, private duty nurse and rounds nurse. I have learned a lot about my profession and other things that I should really look into when it comes to providing safe and quality nursing care, especially those who have Diabetes and other Endocrine diseases, including their corresponding complications and related illnesses. I was introducedto new technologies such as different types of insulin pumps, automatic meters, continuous glucose monitoring, amongst others that are not readily available for public use and was taught their basic mechanisms, how to care for both the patient and the equipment being worn by the patient and also handled educating both the patient and their family members or primary caregivers about the said equipment.

As a student nurse, the college has given me ample experience and knowledge with regards to patient care and management in the different fields of the hospitals, both private and public. Also as a student nurse, I was trained in skills such as Basic Life Support.
