PERSONAL STATEMENT
I am Ms. Jovelyn T. Arcadio, 33 years old, graduated my degree at University of Southeastern Philippines last April 2008 with the Degree of Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics. Just this April 2008, I graduated my Master’s degree of Master’s of Arts in Teaching Mathematics, and currently enrolled my PhD at Bukidnun State University major in Mathematics. I passed my Licensure Examination for teachers last April 2008 and started my teaching career on June 2009. I have been teaching for 9 years at Sagayen National High School. I was teaching Math 7, Math 8, Math 9 and Math 10 before. Recently, I am teaching Math 8. I was assigned as a Mathematics Coordinator for this year and the past 3 consecutive years. I was awarded and recognized for getting the National Achievement Test from 52% to 79% in Mathematics last SY 2013-2014.
I am a widow with three children. With my status, I would like to take it as an opportunity to explore my teaching career outside the Philippines.
Before making my decision, I assure first my qualification. I keep on studying to educate myself. In my country Philippines, we are trained to manage 60 is to 1 classroom settings. We do make lesson plans, visual aids, with two to three preparations. In case of having a students with unusual and alarming absences, we are required to have our home visitation, and we are trained to do such not just to comply our responsibility but to do it heartily as an educator. Serving my country is a pleasure, and 9 years in service is not bad. For now, I am looking forward to explore and develop professionally in your country and I believe my experiences in teaching would be a best training to serve your country at my best.
