MAGNETICS DESIGN DEVELOPMENT
 Conceptualize and design 3D model of magnetics assemblies used on power supply units
 Develop engineering specifications and bill of materials (BOM) of magnetic assemblies for internal and
external customers’ reference
 Conceptualize and design tooled parts used in magnetic assemblies (e.g. holders, bobbin/plastic parts,
busbars)
 Develop specifications of tooled parts for tooling release to outside suppliers
 Develop macro specifications for PCB layout
PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT & TESTING
 Develop and create in-house tools used to conduct calculations, tests and simulations pertaining to design requirements of magnetic parts
 Build prototype of different magnetic parts such as power transformers, auxiliary transformers, current transformers, common mode chokes, PFC chokes, output chokes
 Conduct testing of in-house built magnetic parts
 Prepare and analyze test reports based on theoretically computed parameters
 Process change orders (COs) as required
 Participates in kickoff meetings, exit reviews, conference calls, and design reviews of
different projects and models
 Provides factory support such as on-site and off-site coordination and monitoring of project builds
 Manages supply of raw materials and components and ensures availability through alternate sourcing
 Review magnetic parts BOM and propose new parts for cost reduction purposes and alternate part
proposals
QUALITY ASSURANCE AND CONTROL
 Chairs design reviews to discuss issues, risk, requirements and improvements concerning manufacturability, safety, reliability and other design requirements
 Approves magnetic assembly parts specifications in adherence to safety, reliability and manufacturability standards
 Approves bill of materials for production release
 Approves tooled parts specifications to be used on magnetic assemblies
 Conducts post-mortem and failure analysis to constantly improve products and processes
MAGNETICS TEAM MANAGEMENT AND TRAINING
 Train new employees and OJTs on engineering systems use, CAD programs and design requirements (DFMs)
 Supervise technicians and manage their workload for mass production support and activities
 Coordinates with Design teams, Program Management, Planning and factory on required deliverables such
as BOM upload, materials delivery and specifications release
