Core business injection of plastic parts for the automotive sector, main customers Hella and Valeo

Tool Shop and maintenance manager, responsible to keep molds and injection machines in optimal conditions, follow-up of the plan of preventive maintenance of molds and injection machines such as Engel and Krauss Maffei of 1K and 2K, comprehensive support to the Production department, kick off for new projects, carrying out activities for continuous improvement, development of suppliers, direct attention to customer requirements and quality audits, implementation of warehouse for spare parts, responsible of moving the plant to its new location which includes molds, equipment and injection machines.

Toyoda Gosei Irapuato Mexico (january 2015 – october 2018).

Dedicated to the manufacture of plastic parts for the automotive sector, main customers are Nissan, Mazda, Toyota and Subaru.

Participated in the start-up of the company, working from Toyoda Gosei Kentucky as base of operations from jan-sep 2015, supporting the acquisition of machinery, equipment and tools, I have received injection mold training at Nisimisoguchi plant in Inazawa, Japan from march-april 2016Main activities:
Launch of new mold attending tryouts in Detroit, Missouri, Kentucky, Windsor, Canada and Inazawa, Japan, creation of the procedures of the area and metrics, implementation of the preventive maintenance program, in addition, supported new projects by attending tryouts abroad, coordination of engineering changes made internally or outsourced, dealing with national and foreign suppliers, development of warehouse for critical spare parts, as well as documentation and history related to tools.

Monterrey Aerospace México (june 2008 – november 2014)

Aerospace company dedicated to the manufacture of parts and the assembly of fuselages for light helicopters.

Manager of tooling, maintenance, facilities, improvements for energy saving.

Responsibilities: Coordination of team activities, fulfillment of the annual program of tooling certification requested by MD Helicopters Inc. In 2009 coordinate the transfer of equipment and processes from Heritage Aviation Inc. in Dallas TX to Monterrey Aerospace, also I have certified an aerospace tool located at the Blue Grass Army Depot in Richmond KY in 2009.

North American Tooling Co. (may 2007 – june 2008)

Dedicated to the construction of injection molds, prototypes, engineering changes and maintenance

Assignment: Supervisor of mold shop.

Responsibilities:

Supervision of the activities of Tool Room.
Control of spare parts.

Manufacturing of plastic parts for the automotive sector

Responsibilities:

Preventive and corrective maintenance, engineering changes, mirror polishing, and repair of hot runner systems in 1k and 2k molds

 

General overview:

Tooling engineer, tooling expert focused on quick actions to solve problems through systematic solutions, planning and execution of projects with experience on operations of automotive industry.

 

Technical competences:

 

Corrective maintenance expert level, repair of mold failures, root cause analysis using 5WHYs and 8Ds to avoid recurrence.
Tool shop machines and equipment, lathe handling and conventional milling machine expert level, operation and programming of CNC machine ISO codes, sink EDM, TIG welding, laser welding, electric arc and oxiacetylene.
Handling of pneumatic tools and peripheral equipment such as temperature controller, hydraulic unit, pump for cooling system revision.
Hot runner system such as Synventive systems, HRS, Mold Masters, etc. expert level, disassembly of the system and inspection with multimeter and controller, replacement of components such as heaters, thermocouples, nozzles, electrical connectors, and also valve gate system repairing.
Mirror surface polishing intermediate level, hand polished with required materials, such as sandpaper, polishing stone, felt, lubricant thinner and diamond compounds.
Parting line repairing, work benching expert level, repairing of PL by welding and using pneumatic tools, revision of seal with spotting press and into injection machine if necessary.
Sand blast process expert level, aluminum oxide and glass pearl combination according to the gloss level required, surface preparation and application with vacuum gun.
Intermediate knowledge of molding injection process.
