Currently, I am working at UNDP Afghanistan, as Engineering and Special project Manager; I am responsible for overall management of Civil works, maintenance, renovation, security upgrading, Power and water supply and management of waste water and waste water treatment plant for UNDP, UNICEF and UNWOMEN premises in Afghanistan. In addition to above task, Responsible for the overall management and supervision of civil works, site assessment, site planning, preparing designed drawings, structural calculations, BoQ, Engineering Estimation, QC manual/plan, QA manual/ in coordination and with the endorsement of the requested unit as required and submitting to procurement unit for tendering process. Participate in the evaluation and provide technical inputs as required.

 

The completed projects I was involved are; Significant, medium and large-complexity infrastructure projects such as Multi-story buildings, hospitals, clinics, schools, universities, police training colleges, warehouses, residential houses, shelters for refugees, guest houses, steel and concrete water towers, WASH projects, fuel tank above and underground, retaining walls, irrigation canals, septic tanks, storm water trenches, sewerage and electrical manholes, parking and transportation facilities, roads, culverts, bridges high and low level causeways)

Summary of key functions/accountabilities:

Management of various construction contracts, verify works, certify payments and to liaise with all stakeholders to ensure all functional project/program requirements are met and accountable for effective planning, contract management, technical documentation, quality assurance and project monitoring of construction works, in support of operations and programme objectives. Assist the Operation/Requested unit in the specific technical area, including site assessment, design, drawings, BoQ, estimation, work scheduling/planning, tendering, technical specifications, monitoring, evaluation and contract management/administration in coordination and with the endorsement of the requested unit.

Site assessment, site planning, preparing designed drawings, structural calculations, BoQ, Engineering Estimation, QC manual/plan, QA manual/ in coordination and with the endorsement of the requested unit.
To make sure all designed documents (drawings, BoQ, technical specs, Engineering estimation, QC plan, QA plan) meet the requested unit requirements and are in line with local and international code and standards.
Oversee and be responsible for ensuring that all designs produced are in accordance with the requirements for completeness, accuracy, constructability, and compliance to requirements of the International Building Code (IBC), American Concrete Institute (ACI) and ASCE 7-10 and etc. based on Geotechnical reports.
