SUMMARY
I started my career in the field of Information Technology in the year 1992, my major involvement in this field has been at the software side, besides having good knowledge and experience of different types of Operating Systems and networks, good software development skills and good command on Oracle 8, 9i & 10g, SQL Server 2016 databases, Oracle developer 6i & 10g developer suite, PL/SQL, VB, FoxPro, DOS/Windows based. I have been actively involved in software development, project initiation, user training, implementation and post -implementation support to the end users of Oracle based Property Management System at our group properties. I have good problem analyzing and solving skills. I have also held I.T management positions. Since 1996 I have been working in hotel industry.

Here is a list of positions I have worked on Hashoo Group;

 

·         Computer Programmer – November, 2000 to July, 2002.

·         Assistant I.T Manager   – July 2003 to June 2011.

·         Manager Software Development – July 2011 to Present.

 

Currently working as Manager Software Development at the I.T deptt. of Hashwani Hotels Limted, providing software support to 10 group Hotels of Hashoo Group located all over the country which include Marriott, Pearl Continental and Hotel One chain of hotels. Responsibilities include leading a team of software developers plus guiding them to troubleshoot and resolve end user problems. Working on developing tools like Developer 2000 and 10g DS, online exposure to Oracle 9i and 10g database, with about 50-100 users on Windows 2000 / 2003 server at each hotel. Also worked as Acting I.T Manager at the I.T Department Of Karachi Marriott Hotel. Played a key role in development / implementation of Oracle based Property Management System for our group hotels, which includes installation, end user training, implementation and post-implementation support to the users. Managing a data center on sql server to collect data from group hotels. Using OSR reports and VISION for Opera PMS for data extraction.

REGENT PLAZA /HOLIDAY INN CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL               NOV-1996 TO AUG-1999
Worked as the Assistant EDP Manager at the Data Processing Dept. of Regent Plaza Hotel formerly known as Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, Karachi, which is one of the biggest 5 star hotels in the city. Responsibilities included looking after a network (NOVELL) of around 50 users plus troubleshooting of different problems relating to software / hardware. Besides these tasks maintenance & development of different types of Front office and Back office systems was also my responsibility as requested by users. I was actively involved in other I.T related matters such as decision making in hardware procurement, network / infrastructure setup.

HUB LEATHER PRODUCTS                                                            NOV-1994 TO NOV-1996
Worked at the I.T. Centre of HUB LEATHER PRODUCTS as a Junior Computer Programmer. HUB LEATHER PRODUCTS is a subsidiary company of M.I.M.A Group of Industries and one of the largest manufacturers and exporters of leather products in Pakistan. Software for Leather & Garment inventories are developed in FoxPro under NOVELL NETWARE (LAN) version 3.1. Responsibilities included development and enhancement of existing and new systems as requirement of users and management plus resolving different issues faced by users.

Worked with CREATIVE COMPUTER SERVICES, a software house as a Computer Programmer, worked with them for about one and a half-year using FoxPro and Foxbase. I also gained some experience of LAN. I worked on different sorts of software for clients from textile, shipping, and airline industries.
